Are large parts of Florida below sea level?

More or less. The everglades and south florida area are almost entirely at sea level so any change at all is disastrous. The rest of the state varies but most of it is only a few few above sea level. I mean the whole state is essentially just a huge block of lime stone.

Time to build up my lookout here in West-Germany where I can see how the Netherlands will be flooded. :lol

Oh noez. :(

But hey, if you bring Vla you're welcome.
Allright, I'll buy some right away!

I'm also expecting the Polish immigrants to freak out, they're already stunned by Sinterklaas and Zwarte Piet.:lol

It just has a horrible taste. I don't relate it to candy at all. Especially that aftertaste. I'm pretty sure I would handle it better now, but when I was little that black stuff just messed with my mind: candy..... yet not decilious....but it's candy.... and it tastes horrible.....but candy!.... Another dream shattered.

hey.

i'm from new orleans, and did a study (for a fluid mechanics class) on your dam system. my professor was one of the guys who toured the area with the politicians who went, b/c he had to tell the politicians if it was good or not.

trust me, you'll be fine. its an incredible system.

So is New Orleans getting a similar system? Is the money there? (I hope so)

Superstorm?

I suppose you can't go outside the house.

Be sure to have your favorite porno on standby, you'll be bored.

I guarantee it.

I'll bring the lange vloei, halfzware tabak, filtertips and my girlfriend M.J. if there's still room.......

Piet Paulusma?

Seriously though, I wouldn't worry about this superstorm but keep an eye on the weather just in case. Never hurts to stock up on some extra bottled water and emergency supplies anyways.

Just for good measure; Superstorm in the US means your town will get fucked up, and you with it.

Superstorm in the Netherlands means you better start calling your insurance because bits of tree may land on your car.

To build anything comparable to what the Dutch have achieved with their dam and levee system would require far more money and skill than what the US Federal Government would ever possibly consider. Whatever funding and manpower would be needed will go to Iraq anyway. For the majority of Americans, New Orleans isn't important enough for such a sophisticated system.

Iraq >>>> New Orleans

The amount of money sunk into the Dutch system is pretty crazy too actually... Then again it's been a work in progress for close to fifty years and I'm not complaining, so far it has done a terrific job.

Done.

Shooting water ftw.

Well, for many Americans, shooting people who might use a storm as a chance to re-distribute some property ftw.

Or just shooting random people who might possibly, you suspect, use the storm as such a chance ftw.

Stroopwafels from the store are ok I guess, but nothing beats a fresh one from the market. Warm and soggy :9~

Btw, do they sell the Hertog ice cream brand in supermarkets in Germany? They introduced a stroopwafel flavor not so long ago

+ 8 NAP here, so I won't get flooded. I'm not looking forward to cycling with such windspeeds though :(

Load all your stuff in your knapsack and head for the Ardennes posthaste.
