Just to state a matter of fact (regardless of the situation), I know that UK copyright law is more stringent than that of the US. Although, "Europe" is a pretty broad and pretty much undefined location, so that's just one example.

It was an episode of Charmed (for my wife.)

Paramount got in contact with my ISP and they sent me an email with the proof I was logged downloading the episode along with all the other legal mumbo jumbo stuff. I had to delete it from my HD and was warned if caught again, that my account would be terminated.
