Microsoft has announced what it hopes will be a new attack on piracy. The company has decided to give away software to those who bought machines with fake copies pre-installed.

Eh, not too bad. it has that "We'll steer you in the right direction, now buy our other programs." vibe to it. Whatever. I can live without using Windows (or linux for that matter) again. I still ended up buying Office because it was $60, and it works.
