Huh, didn't really expect the actually cart to be the slowest of the bunch. But I guess it kind of makes sense when you think about it.

Does this also affect how Switch (1) games perform on the system? Like, if I have the game on a physical Switch (1) cartridge loading times will be capped by the actual cartridge? But if I have the same game digital the Switch 2 will be able to speed things up?

highly likely.

I need someone to test Deadly Premonition 2 on the internal storage, because that game has severe streaming stutters on cart.

the Switch 2 pushes indoor segments to 60fps (the game barely hit 30fps usually, with outdoor segments being below 20fps), but outdoors, on my cart version, it's still an absolute mess of constant stutters the moment you do anything in the open world.

8 seconds more for the game cart. What in the world will I do having to wait for those 8 seconds.

This was the same problem Switch 1 had BTW

It seems worse on Switch 2 than 1 though. If you are still buying games on cartridges, Nintendo hates you personally and wants you to know it

Can I just say this video is excellent.
No "Hey guys, welcome back to my channel, today we're gonna be checking out...".

Video starts.
Shows exactly what you want to see.
In 25 seconds it has delivered the goods.

Incredible. Bravo.

Plus no thumbnail with a clickbaity face reaction, huge fonts, or badly edited image. Bravo indeed.

I realize now that this is a very old thread that got bumped, but I do have an anecdotal example that Switch game cartridges load a lot faster on Switch 2.

My wife and I play a lot of Stardew Valley together. She has a digital copy on Switch 1 (OLED), and I still use the physical Switch cartridge on my Switch 2. When she hosts a game off her digital copy, it takes a good 45 seconds to 1 minute to load the game. When I host a game using my physical cartridge on Switch 2, it takes maybe about 8 seconds.

*Disclaimer - the Switch 2 Edition of Stardew did just come out, but it also loaded that fast for the past 6 months when we would play with me hosting on Switch 2. It also fixed the slowdown issue when Pepper Rex would breathe fire at you.
