Actually the email is right, you do need the PSP to register...unless you download a Firefox extension and fool it. I put the clues in the image...

I see it now, that's pretty cool. Just did it on my PSP, this game looks good although to be honest I'm looking forward to the single player more than the multiplayer

I hope the game is 2.00. Socom required 2.00 to register but the beta iteself only required 1.52. I guess it depends how old the beta is

The game is definitely 2.5. I've been playing the pre-release demo... great game so far!

How does it stack up versus other SF games?

SF1 and SFP2 on PSone were cool. But the series crashed after those games. Plus the PS2 version sucked.

Of course it's gonna be 2.0+ firmware. Why would Sony or any other developer use 'outdated' firmware?

I think you just have to register your PSP and say that you have internet access. I don't remember if there is a specific 'sign up for betas' thingy.

The game has a little more of the SOCOM feel, but more action oriented controls and missions.

There's no rolling! Unless the move isn't in there yet... but I doubt it. Wasn't listed anywhere, and I tried all the obvious ways to roll, but nope, nothing.
