System Shock Remake announced for Nintendo Switch and Switch 2

Nintendo remembered that they have a new Console/Handheld out and need to send out devkits

Superb game and a well-managed remaster. Some of the visuals are a bit strange but overall what Nightdive did in preserving the original feel is awesome.

Still need to get to System Shock 2. MGS Delta and Armored Core VI first.

Thank the lord, Nightdive finally have devkits.

They need to hurry up and get a Switch 2 patch out for the Heretic/Hexen bundle so I can finally buy it.

Crazy day for third party announcements for Switch 2

AC Shadows
Fallout 4 Anniversary edition
System shock remake

Anything else?

And the haters keep claiming that third party devs ignore Switch 2.

I hope for a Halo announcement today for NS2. But i don't think it is coming.

Halo or Goldeneye remastered would be great for NS2. Hell, even a more fleshed out version of Goldeneye that Xbox received with online features tacked on. That would be great.

Curious, Xbox just didn't put their own Direct together and announce different things for all platforms.

Ahead of System Shock remake's Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 launch, we're exploring key development decisions that helped shaped the port and sharing when players can face off against SHODAN on Nintendo platforms.

System Shock remake launches on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 — December 18, 2025!

The critically acclaimed System Shock remake is AVAILABLE NOW on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 with Joy-Con 2 mouse support, gyro aiming, and community feedback-inspired features!

The new version 2.1 patch, which Nightdive is naming the Parity Patch, attempts to address these issues by improving the game's performance on Switch and Switch 2.

According to the studio, the Switch version now runs at up to 900p resolution while docked and up to 720p resolution in handheld, with a target of 30 frames per second.

The Switch 2 version, meanwhile, will now run at up to 1440p when docked and 1080p in handheld, both at 60fps. It will also now include mouse support.

While the new patch is clearly aimed at Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 players for the most part, Nightdive notes that it also adds bug fixes and enhancements to all platforms.

"System Shock Version 2.1, the 'Parity Patch', marks nearly ten years since the System Shock Remake project began," Nightdive Studios producer Justin Khan said in a statement to players.

"This patch represents countless lessons learned, the dedication of a small but determined team, and our commitment to refining the experience across every platform. Thank you for sticking with us through the ups and downs of that journey."

This is a good game but such a shame because I felt super claustrophobic and motion sick while playing it and had to refund. It's not really the fault of the dev as this is a product of it's time when it was difficult to design large open areas and some design choices are very old and my GenZ brain hates this this, too clunky.

That sucks, I get motion sick from FPS games too. Did you try changing the field of view option?

FOV is fine, it's the narrow hallways and congested areas and winding, maze like level design/map coupled with a really bright, off-neon, weird color style.

(I don't get motion sick from FPS games, DOOM/Far Cry/Cod/BF/etc all zero issues but this game got me so if you are much more susceptible to motion sickness I recommend skipping this)
