Beautiful Struggle

I'll be picking this up on the weekend, has anyone here got it yet? If so, please post your thoughts on it.

No "Lonely People"? The crowd hisses with displeasure.

man....that song is one of the greatest songs i have heard in a long time hiphop wise...

dope beat, concept, lyrics...etc

but cmon now....there is no way that those samples were gonna get cleared...especially after that whole Grey album fiasco....

i too have made beats sampling the great beatles...but sadly, i too know that those beats will never see the light of day unless its on a mixtape because of sample clearancing problems.

peace

'Imagine That' - Nas feat. Pit Bull

Another hot song that will never be released due to usage of a Beatles sample.

Yeah, that happened to Ghostface's "My Guitar" too. Screw the money-grubbing Beatles. Or is Jacko to blame... Doesn't he own like half their catalog?

It's not the Beatles themselves, it's the label. A lot of times in these cases, the actual artist doesn't play much of a role. Sometimes legal action will be pursued without the artists knowing about it immediately.

He owns the publishing rights. He doesn't own the actual tapes or masters or anything like that.

So, he doesn't say who can use the samples or not? What exactly is the value of owning the publishing rights then?

Also, I am not seeing the song with Killer Mike on the Talib CD as well. That one was hot, even thoguh Killer Mike outshined Talib on that one.

I'm pretty sure Micheal Jackson owns the beatles publishing rights. Also, I'm pretty sure you're allowed to use samples from the beatles but you'll have to pay.

Anyways back to talib, I just did a quick listen through this cd, its sounds tight thus far.
