PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. (AP) — Two people died Monday afternoon when their small plane crashed in South Florida, and two other people on the ground were injured, officials said.
Pembroke Pines Fire Rescue told news outlets that the crash occurred shortly after the plane took off from the North Perry Airport. As the aircraft went down in a residential neighborhood near the airport, the plane collided with an SUV occupied by a woman and a young boy, who were transported to a nearby hospital, officials said.
The Federal Aviation Administration identified the aircraft as single-engine Beechcraft Bonanza. Officials didn’t immediately identify any of the victims.
The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the crash.
