I got a tattoo last Wednesday.
It's really small, I like it.
But I cannot remember how I am supposed to care for it. I bought some tattoo creme from the parlour and have been putting that on it, but when I forget it, I've been using Elizabeth Arden eight-hour creme and vaseline. should it be covered? Any advice would be appreciated.
:)

Don't scratch... (and thats about it)

Never used anything on mine after 24 hours, so you should be good to make do without the creams now.

Really? I heard a few scare stories that they go shit and blurred if they're not covered with something for ages. Is that true? Or sill it be cool against my t-shirt?
And thanks mate, I was kinda concerned that I'd end up with a blob on my skin.

Not true, you only want to watch out for scratching the itchyness as it can cause scabbing, which will appear as patchiness later in the tattoo, once healed.

Once your past the itchiness stage you're home & dry.

I've always heard you need to massage some vaseline in and around the area for a couple of days/weeks. Coconut fat would also work I reckon.

Thanks mate. That's great news.
If you ever need help with cooking or, um, whatelse am I good at, erm, chatting up girls or, um, drinking continental strength lager, I'm your man.
Again thanks! :)

Now run back and tell your girlfriend to get one, but slightly lower.

And don't forget the pics!!

She is getting one though, dunno where yet. The forerunner is my name in the Nintendo font with the red border around it.

I used Neosporin on mine for about a week, nothing since. The itching is the thing to look out for, I've always been told.

Haha, how deliciously dorky of you. This Nintendo fanboy approves!

Don't use vaseline. Try to only use the stuff you got at the tattoo parlor or some unscented Lubriderm. I would say keep it out of sunlight, but considering where it is and the time of year, you shouldn't have a problem with that. Don't scratch.

Irk! I used vaseline already but will stop. Understood about sunlight, need to go tanning soon though - (feel my metrosexuality!) as am getting married and want to not look all white and British next to my tanned beautiful chick! S'pose I could cover it with a sticking plaster? And understood about the scratching.
Thanks Raoul, really.

Now we will know how to identify your dead body!

... Congratulations, I guess. It looks cool. I don't know how to take care of tattos, so my comments are pretty much meaningless.

Never, ever, ever use neosporin. That shit will take the color out of your skin.
