Team Reptile announces Hyperfunk.

BennyBlanco

aka IMurRIVAL69

HYPERFUNK is two seconds per second of evolved funkstyle. Battle rival crews, hang out online, explore the city, do some crazy tricks, and blast through the streets.

HYPERFUNK is an extreme trick and graffiti game from a bright future. Society is shaped by the effects of the Hyper, the online space, as various graffiti crews compete in reality with style and ideology of how to interpret this new world. Use your skates, skateboard or BMX to do tricks that fuel your personal boostpack. The higher your combo score, the faster you can boost, up to ridiculous speeds.

Key Features

  • Dynamic Style Wars, crews can take over areas and compete with others on their own.
  • Challenge other crews to a graffiti battle, where you will compete in real time on who can bomb the streets best, escape police and claim the area.
  • Strategically use four different types of graffiti to go over your opponents. Tags < Throwies < Pieces < Blockbusters.
  • Move freely around the city to grow your crew, find music tracks and unlock the other move styles.
  • Meet random online players in the Hyper or hang out online with your friends in the streets.

Looks sick. Bomb Rush Cyberfunk was surprisingly good IMO.

edit: that reminds me, I still gotta platinum Bomb Rush Cyberfunk on PS5... I already got 1000G on Xbox, but since it was in PS+ I gotta platinum it now too I guess lol.

Looks like complete fucking garbage.

First game was great but didn't like the bike and skateboarding, I mostly stuck with the skates.

A JSRF remaster would be incredible.

the difference movement styles in Bomb Rush were 99% cosmetic tho. the only important difference between those 3 were that you can open up different hidden spots with them.

the only actual tangible gameplay difference between them, as far as I know, is how long their "manuals" last (Bike > Skateboard > Inline)... which is honestly pretty much negligible given that you don't need extended manuals anyway. the skates have the shortest distance and I never had issues doing insane combo runs with them either.

The final name better be Bomb Rush Hyperfunk or we riot!

it's apparently a prequel btw. set in "old" Amsterdam. so no Cyberheads yet presumably.
but also this probably means the Bomb Rush crew doesn't exist yet either... so that name would not make sense. Bomb Rush = the crew. Cyberfunk = you are a Cyberhead.

if anything they'd need to replace the "Bomb Rush" part with a similar crew name that fits the new game... like "City Crash Hyperfunk", or "Grind Flash Hyperfunk", something like that, and the first part is the name of your crew, something like that.

Coming from a thread on THPS and never having gotten round to trying Jet Set (although I'm sure I own at least 1 on Steam), are they in the same wheelhouse?

The trailer music devolved into shit by the end so I'm posting this so I can have good audio when I watch the trailer again
