Here's the rundown thus far.

Sunday: Fried iPod.
Monday: Fried PC Motherboard.
Tuesday: Cell phone starts acting up and needs replacement.

And just now, the motherboard on my laptop went out (same symptoms as the last time it was sent it for repair, and that was the prognosis then). This time though, I don't have a warranty, which means if I want repairs, I have to pay for them. And I definitely don't have the money for that. Or a new PC motherboard, for that matter.

It's ridiculous how often this kind of shit happens (second motherboard for both PC and laptop this year) so I'm really sick of dealing with it and sinking all that cash into it, not to mention the complete rehaul of the PC last year. At the same time though, it's to the point where I need a computer of my own, especially with school and my writing.

Rock. Hard place.

So, I don't know what to do. At all. Repair? Replace? If so, with what? Convert to the iArmy? Or should I just head for the mountains?

Dude WTF? You must have a power problem within your home. I would invest in some good surge protectors.

That logic is flawed though: Other roommates have no issues, not everything operates from the same plug/strip, or even the same household (laptop is mostly used outside of the house).

i would say you're a magnet for horrible luck. at least the computer can be explained away by kiddie-BIOS-tweaking-gone-bad. my advice? factory default everything from now on and never look at an options/configuration/preference screen again, lest G*d tries to take away another electronic device.

I'm sorry man, it's time to go old school. You're just not good with the whole electronics thing.

Or this is Karma for the whole Paris Hilton thing.
