In need of some help here:

I'm starting to think this is an issue of having a new router rather than an issue upgrading to the Mac El Capitan beta, however, since I switched from Fios to Time Warner (both require use of their own modem/router combo in my area) I'm having an odd wifi issue. Every time my Macbook sleeps or I close and reopen the lid, no pages will load and I seemingly have no connection, even though it shows that I am still connected to my wifi and have full signal (this did not happen when I was with Fios). The only way to remedy this is to turn the wifi on and off on my Macbook, and as you can imagine it's becoming incredibly annoying.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Does your router have the latest firmware? ISP hardware is notoriously bad.

I did that try that with no luck. I'm also leaning toward router issue as the girlfriend's Macbook is having the same issue.

Bring your macbook to your fav hipster coffee shop, connect to the wifi and see if you also have the problem there, if so its your mac

If it workd fine there then buy a new router

Some routers don't play very well with Macs when it comes to sleep/wake.

Usually what does the trick for most people is to make a Home location in System Preferences > Network, then connect to your own Wi-Fi router with a Static IP.
