Tekken 5 on PSP???

Even Watch Impress is mentioning that Tekken 5 will be out in NA this month, and in Japan on the 31st of March.

I really hope so. :) Gamestop.com is still listing the game as shipping 3/15. But EB clearly changed the date and it's now appearing on the front page of the site.

*Rejoices*

Yeah, I saw that too. T5 this month? That could be cool...

Also, more talk about the game share features of Namco museum...

I hope it does some out this month. The wait is killing me. I'm thinking about getting the bundle but I think I might just buy the game and then spend a little more to get the japanese version of the stick. The US stick looks awful IMO.

I wonder how Namco's going to bring IPs like Tekken and Ace Combat to PSP. Follow the Ridger Racers route (expansive compilation/remake) or simply port the console games over one by one?

Both are RAPs, right?

I think a compilation-style Ace Combat game would be awesome. I'd really love to see a remake of Ace Combat 3 (with all the anime!) more than anything else.

With Tekken, there's no way we'd see a new game, so a port of Tekken 5 would rock. Same with Soul Calibur 2.

Namco may not bring those IPs to the PSP at all. Don't forget that Tekken and Ace Combat have traditionally been released on Nintendo handhelds. Also, Namco has announced much more support for the DS compared to PSP.

Xenosaga DS, Baten Kaitos DS, Pac n Pix, Pac n Roll, Soul Calibur DS, Ridge Racers...

Tekkens for PSP, even if its just a compilation of all Tekken characters from 1-5 would rock. Hell put the tag option back in.

Preordered my Tekken 5 Limited Edtion bundle today :D

:lol Traditionally? You mean one title of each on the gba? Tekken has also been released for the Wonderswan too you know.

I could see something along the lines of Tekken Tag plus new characters/bgs/moves for PSP. I get the feeling Namco's probably going to split up Tekken and SC between PSP and DS too.

I'd say Namco seems pretty evenly split so far actually. Still, I imagine PS centric IPs like Tekken and Ace Combat will probably head to PSP rather than DS. Though DS could easily replicate all those PS1 games. :)

Yeah that's what I'm picturing. Something along the lines of Tekken Tag 2.

Well, in GBA's defense at least it got a Tekken fighter. Isn't the WSC Tekken a slot game? :P

Fine by me, as long as the PSP continues with the Tekken franchise :D
Not a big fan of Soul Calibur anyhow.

Can anyone tell me if Tekken 5(or any Tekken game for that matter) will be coming out for the PC? I would like to play it on a Notebook.

Tekken 2 was announced for PC once upon a time, to use the PVR1 card. It along with the other Namco games (Rave Racer, Air Combat 22) were sadly canceled though.

Too bad Namco never followed through with their plans to support Saturn, N64 and PC last gen... guess they're making up for it now on GameCube and Xbox.

if Tekken 5 really was releasing in 2 weeks wouldnt there have been a "GONE GOLD" announcement ?

Yeah, and just as recently as last week Namco was still just saying "Q1 2005". I don't know why so many people are actually expecting T5 to come out in just 2 weeks.
