Looks cool to me. Hope it’s good but this will live and die by its physics and fun factor.

TDU has always been jank, so it's hard to judge based on an alpha. I would say they may have shown off too much if it wasn't ready.

Oh man, I'm lucky to have TDU2 in my Steam library. It's long delisted and I believe you can't legally obtain it anymore.
Same here. I was trying to get it running on the Deck a while back and gave up, after seeing this.. i'm going back to trying to get it working tonight :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Looks like it could be fun, so negative guys!

Also TDU1 was way better than 2.

I'd be positive if not for few factors:

a) game was scheduled to release last year
b) they did a 'big' showcase and it looked completely unfinished
c) it was delayed to 2024 shortly after

It just smells incompetence. I expect a complete train wreck of a game.

Just cancel it, nothing of value will be lost.

This makes me sad because this is the game series I worked on decades ago :(

Honestly I didn't think the unlimited titles where that bad, the social aspect of the casino was very unique for a racing game and I still to this day think it has one of the best character intro selection screens ever made.

Oh and the racing was fine, that's kind of important in a game about racing. I think the problem is the modern titles have been eclipsed by forza horizon in the same way our older games where by need for speed.

It looks good in the last trailer, but it's still a potential trainwreck when it comes to performance and bugginess. A game to have on your wishlist, but definitely not pre-order.

I too liked 1 better than 2, and I mean the PS2/PSP versions... The reason is the GOD TIER ADDITIONAL MUSIC (below, it's a playlist). I still occasionally listen to it while working.

Game devs now underestimate how much the atmosphere in the game is created by the sounds and music and that is why NFS Unbound, as decent as it actually was, and as much as I enjoy rap music, was an awful experience when you're driving at 200+ km/h and some slow rap is in your speakers, like this shit made 0 sense and killed the vibe of the game.

Also one of the best game themes ever IMO. This tune speaks to my SOUL.

I'm excited for it, but noticed no dirt flying in that trailer...

I can live without that, lol. I LOVED the old unlimited games, have hopes for this one too.

Game looks incredible, absolutely can't wait to play it. The king of open world racers has returned.

I loved TDU on the X360 - a very chill game ahead of its time, many years have passed since then though and this now seems just another open world racer ala' Forza Horizon and The crew - am I missing something here boys ? Honest question!

doesnt look that good.
It looks like a clean cross-gen title. Hopefully, there is tons of interesting personalities and scenarios to make progressing in the game worthwhile and no always online requirement. If it does not deliver on those then it is dead in the water.

I know I know :messenger_smirking:

I too had my fill of F5 but it didn't scratch that itch TDU 2 gave. It moves and quacks like a duck but is a bit of a jester.

TDU 2 was grittier, The Crew came close but seemed more whimsical.

It's hard to put a finger on why I still find TDU 2 brilliant. It looks a bit crap, handles like a pig and was pure cheese on toast but it had something I've not played in a racer, ever, I don't think.

I know I'm not alone in feeling it. Worth a buy did a video too. Like or hate him, he gets the TDU love

It just has something no other racer has given.

Is that... the game? Looks like a PS3 game at times, hideous
