A randy Texas band teacher has played her swan song.
Michelle Strickland, a 23-year-old assistant band director at a Houston high school, was fired and arrested after school officials found out about her sexual trysts with an 18-year-old student in a school storage room, police said.
The student admitted it, Spring Branch ISD Police Chief Chuck Brawner told KTRK. She denied it.
Strickland was in her first year at Stratford High School when an anonymous tipster sent an email to the principal, exposing her extracurricular activities, authorities said.
The allegations were backed up by the boys admissions and a series of inappropriate text messages between the teacher and teen, police said
The text messages were explicit, Brawner told KTRK.
Strickland kissed and had oral sex with the boy in a school supply room, and the two continued the illicit relationship off campus where they had sexual intercourse during spring break, police allege.
Teachers, they get into this profession because they want to help kids they want to help them learn, Brawner told KHOU News 11. How are you going to do that when you damage them emotionally?
Parents were notified of the arrest in a note from the school district, which revealed the former teacher had been fired in April for violating social media policies.

We have worked closely with law enforcement officials on this case, and if these allegations are proven true, we urge the justice system to take the strongest possible action against this former employee, the district said in the statement obtained by KTRK.
Strickland was arrested on June 25 and is free on $10,000 bail
