Wow I'm really enjoying this battle between 360 and PS3 with a lttle Nintendo mixed in. This could be the gen that dethrones 16 bit as the ultimate war. Anyone else agree? I haven't been this hyped for multi console gaming in a bit

I think it will be very similar to the 16-bit war, at least from a gameplay perspective.
By the time the 16-bit systems came out, developers were familiar enough with 2D gameplay mechanics that even the crappier games still played decently.
I think a similar situation will happen this gen with 3D gamplay mechanics.
To a lesser extent, one could also argue that these generations represented/will represent the first time their respective dimension could be represented without obvious flaws.

The 16bit war was close in all markets of the world but this one looks heavily Sony dominated. Basing my assumption on reactions of gamers.
IMHO it will break down like this (market share)
Japan Sony 60% Rev 30% 360 10%- I think 360 will gain a little market
Korea Sony 75% Rev 24% 360 1% - Sony products are loved here
Europe Sony 50% Rev 20% 360 30% - Online & FPS are liked here good for 360
USA Sony 50% Rev 15% 360 35% - this will be the most intense battle for the market
Aus - don't know
