He didn't supervise T2. Studio Canal did that. He supervised Abyss, True Lies, and Titanic.
Not true from anything i've ever read. Just google "did James Cameron supervise the Terminator 2 4k transfer". Though plenty of people believe it's DNRed so bad because it doubled as the restoration for the 3D re-release. I guess we'll see.

I wonder if the drowning rat sequence will get past the UK censors, AFAIK its been cut every time The Abyss has been released over the years on the various now defunct formats.

Did they let you watch RoboCop at least? :messenger_winking_tongue:
That was on video, I think. Hard to remember though, because I saw Lethal Weapon in theater, as well as Predator, so Robocop was right around the same time and no cared if teens snuck into rated R shit back then. My mom may have taken me as well, she was the one that let me watch Alien in like 1980 and just covered my eyes (but not my ears) at all the gross bits :p

I also recall looking for "The Terminator" on vhs and getting "The EXterminator" by mistake....ugh what a slog that was, no Conan in sight! :p

This is a great move, as when it came out it felt pretty average, but these days by comparison it'll feel like a masterpiece.

It would be awesome to go see it with my older brother, we saw it together at release and we loved it. Would be cool to get some nice behind the scenes stuff too on the disc, the making of this movie was insane and more than a few near deaths, Cameron included.

Smart man, skipped Blu-ray so we could have 4K.

Anyone else here see the Abyss theatrical on release?

Of course! I also got the The Abyss extended version on DVD when it came out. Looking forward to finally seeing this movie in the best possible quality.

Oh god yes, give me that 4k UHD blu-ray. This is one of Cameron's best movies I think, and way overlooked. I'd take this 100 times over Avatar.
