The Ascent has been rated for PS5 and PS4 in Taiwan

I liked it but it's buggy as hell... Still.

I have tried to set up a coop game with a couple of friends on two occasions and on both we have given up because it just doesn't work.

Other than that you can tell they poured a lot of love into it.

Played it last night for the first time. Gave up after an hour as I just couldn't get into it. Great atmosphere and graphics but it just didn't hook me like I was hoping it would.

People are more honest about games once they get ported

There was a lot of fanfare around this game last summer now its, "its ok but very buggy, could barely play it"

Nah its one of the top games of the year. Its basically what you imagined FFVII pre-rendered backgrounds looked like in your head as a kid, only better, and all 3d rendered in real time. Better sci fi lore than anything since Mass Effect. People hating on the game have missed the boat. It's a real time Akira comic. Some of the densest environmental detail ever in a game.

Don't listen to any negativity if you like old school pure awesome gameplay with new modern and extremely well-crafted visuals. It's like Metroid Dread, but for the top down shooter genre, traditional but still fresh, with RPG stuff sprinkled on top. Still among the best looking games this year. And among the best played games as well. Cover mechanic is genious. Either critics were drunk when they reviewed this game, or the pre-launch version was awful, hard to confirm now but it has to be one or the other. Was buggy on PC at launch though, save bugs and performance issues, but I hear the PC version has been fixed since then, I have several PC gaming friend who has played through it, all loved it.
9.5/10 Edit: Maybe 9/10 since I haven't touched it since 100-percenting it, still gave me nearly 40 hours of entertainment.

Tried it and was bored pretty quickly and I like the genre like Helldivers or Alienation for example. But this one didn't click.

Great looking game but it has some issues. If they could have gotten the cover shooting working properly and done something about the strange difficulty spikes, I would have finished it.

It was my game of year until Forza Horizon 5 and Halo Infinite came out. I thought it was great, a super dense and rich world, amazing graphics and really fun gameplay. It's an excellent twin-stick shooter with some RPG elements.

Don't believe the shitty reviews, it's a challenging game and was probably too hard for the idiot 'game journalists'. :pie_roffles: :pie_roffles: :pie_roffles:
