The best local burger in your area?

When I was still in Georgia, the best burger I could get was in Cusseta, GA, just south of Ft. Benning. The Four Winds Restaurant served the Ranger Burger, and it looked similar to that burger you've been seeing all over the internet. Best damned burger I've ever had. Couldn't finish it, though.

We have these 1lb burgers up at the restaurant where I work.

Quite tasty, if hard to finish without getting full first.

We have these Fancy restaurants called 'Perrys' here.
There's a 5 star Steakhouse, 5 star Italian place, etc...

But they have a meat market connected to a semi-nice restaurant and they have some of the BEST hamburgers.

If you're going the sloppy route, we have a MILLERS CAFE. Holy hell, those are wonderful.

I don't know of any in the Baltimore area, but the best burgers ever can be gotten from Val's burgers in Hayward, CA.

I just can't get a decent burger in Japan. My town has McDink's, but holy hell, why would I do that to myself? I have to go to Tokyo for Wendy's. That's the best I can get, really. All of the family restaurants serve either hamburger steaks or actual hamburgers that have that strange sausage-y taste. :(

Well, I can't go to 5 star steakhouses and 5 star Italian places like olimario does, so I go to Beep's Burgers in SF

When I'm at university (Cambridge, England), then it'll have to be the Greek place, Gardies, which was almost closed down. Where I live in London, there isn't any local burgers really, just Chinese, Indians, or pizzas.

A local chain where I live called Lottaburger is pretty good. I usually get a green chili and cheese lottaburger when I go there.

There's In & Out, Fuddruckers, Topz, and Fatburger. Southern Cali is the best for burgers.

Topz is a good place, doesn't seem as widespread as the other chains.

I've been to Perrys, but I never get the hamburgers. I always get the ribeye steak sandwich. Good stuff.

Around the corner there is C&D burger shoppee. It is ok, cheap though.

Off of 45 and fuqua they opened a Princes. That is ok too.

Still the best burger in town is Fuddruckers.

I'll vote for the All American Burger place in Manhattan, right near Herald Square. You can't beat their turkey burgers, you simply can't beat them at all. And I've eaten a lot of turkey burgers, so that obviously makes me an expert. ;)

One day, if I'm ever in L.A., I'm going to make it a point to try an In-N-Out burger. But at this point, my expectations have been made so ridiculously high that I don't think anything short of a fast-food induced orgasm is going to make me give it a thumbs up.

Also, in Chicago, the Billy Goat Tavern. The original restaurant was the inspiration for the "Che'boiger, che'boiger!" sketch on SNL, and arguably where "Cheeseburger Cheeseburger" lifted their name from. (BGT now has about 3 locations, maybe more) Fun fact: CC isn't allowed (call it a mutual agreement between lawyers) to build any restaurants within Chicago. Turns out that the Billy Goat Tavern kind of relies on the catchphrase for their local marketing.

Anyway, their cheeseburgers are overrated. Good, but overrated. Still no fries, though. Only chips. Also, no Coke (products); only Pepsi (products).

NYC fucking sucks. There's really no good local burgers, unless you count diner burgers, which really aren't that hot.

But in Jersey, there's a place called the Windmill or something, and it's pretty damn good.

And back home in Washington, there's Best Burgers in my hometown of Tacome (now Lakewood really) and Dick's up in Seattle.

I hate Billy Goat burgers. Poor quality meat.

If I want a greazy cheeeborgor, I go to Peppers across the street for BGT in the loop.

If I want a *good* burger, I go to Portillo's.

Ive been to Millers and it was pretty good. I also like Fuddruckers alot but isnt a local chain. I would go with a place called Big Burger V off the Hardy Toll Rd. Their burgers and chicken baskets are really good.

Which Perrys? Bay Area, Pineloch, 518, or other?
And how could I forget Fudruckers? I guess because I don't consider it "local".

There's a pool hall I frequent called Millenium in Flushing, Queens (NYC). Their burgers get my vote. I often go there late at night with my friend just for it.

I'm still an Austin n00b, but the best I've found so far is Hut's on 6th street. They don't have the biggest burgers, but they're mighty tasty. Hut's onion rings are great, too. They're huge, almost as big as the burgers.

There's a cool place near Parmer @ Amhurst (north of the northern Duval, near Fry's) called Comfort Foods Cafe. It's a small place set up next to a gas station, but they actually put some effort into it. The burgers are usually pretty darn good. The night chef is a cool guy -- he works at a more high-calibur place during the day, and uses the cafe as his "fun" time.

In-N-Out is good, but realize that it's good primarily when compared to other burgers in the "entry level" class: McDonalds, BK, Wendy's, etc. Also, as good as their burgers may be, they lose points overall because of their fries. <SIGH>

My vote would be for Fuddruckers.

How can somebody be so wrong and still believe what they say?!?
NYC has arguably the best burgers in the world.
The 21 club has the greatest burgers in the history of cows.
Then you have the $100 burger at Bistro Moderne, which has to be fucking incredible.
You've also got solid cheaper burgers at the All American Burger place that Xsarien mentioned, some place on 23rd and Park, Houstons all around the city, and even at some diners (Moonstruck).

The burgers at Houstons are probably the best thing I have ever tasted while high.

Vera's Burger Shack. Heavily bankrolled by CFL legend Noah Cantor, and providing burgers that kick the snot out of ANYTHING you've ever had. Set it up your way, any toppings you like....yeah, it's a bitch to wait for your burger to be prepared but OMG is it worth it. Awesomeness in my mouth.
