Well it has 33 in it, and that game transcends anything I've ever played.

It's like it was the first big year post-covid where everybody released a big game every week or so

I expected nothing from 2025 just some months ago and so far i can say it's the best year since 2007, KCD2 and Expedition 33 are two of the best WRPG/JRPG's i've played.

If Path of Exile 2 finally releases this year.... damn

Sadly i don't see anything else that's interesting at all, Tainted Grail maybe? GTA is zzz for me, Outer Worlds 2 and Ghost of Yotei are going to be bland stuff..

Wait, Slay the Spire 2 could make it this year too right? That'd be huge.

This year will be the best for the sheer number of good titles out or coming out, but 1995 will be my personal fav year in game ever.
Where I got Astal, Pazner Dragoon, Sega Rally, Virtua Cop and Virtua Fighter 2, Layered Section Darius Gaiden, X-Men: COTA on the Saturn and Lunar Eternal Blue on the SEGA CD

Feel like this thread is being necroed because of the other thread about "Is 2026 Going to be the Greatest Year in Gaming?" and honestly GTAVI is doing a lot of heavy lifting for both. RE9 also got people excited for 2026, but ATM I think 2025 looks and has been better even with GTAVI delayed. Clair Obscur 33 seems to have GOTY and many other awards locked but we've had a lot of good games and plenty to come to the point that some heavy hitters (MHWilds, ACShadows, etc.) are already somewhat forgotten about. Maybe it's the pace at which games are released and how much content there is today, but it's hard to keep up with all the good games coming out in 2025 (if you work 40 hour weeks and/or have a life/kids).
