Just saw these guys play on Conan O'Brian.

The record companies aren't even trying anymore. These guys are so manufactured it's not even funny. They dress the same, they have similar haircuts, they are ALL naturally handsome with nice safe smiles. Their song is about "just the girl I'm looking for." The music is safe sounding. All of them have wireless kits on their guitars. Since when did a brand new band just rising up from their scene have enough to afford wireless kits. I know it's TV, but I've seen plenty of bands on TV using wires.

I felt the same way about them. They come from a music school and yet their sound is so learned... so stale...

I hope they fail

They won't. They're so sacchrine. Middle and high school girls will eat them right up.

Plus, their single was released free on iTunes about a week or two before the band really hit it big. I'm pretty sure iTunes is involved in some major payola.

There's no creativity with them musically. There's nothing interesting or endearing.
It sounds like they took all the stale, top charting preteen pop from the last 5 years... ripped the most generic parts from each... and formed a new song.

Nevermind the fact that even though this is their first major label outing, they've been a band for a few years now with a pretty big following, so i won't exactly call them new or anything...and wireless stuff is cheap as hell by the way. I can't really rag on power pop..

welcome to the last 50 years of music. What? You think David Cassidy and the Monkees were underground before they hit big?
