I love pocoyo, the only show I watch with my niece, not 'watch'.

Yeah, I find myself laughing at the quirky animation a few too many times for a man of 33. :p Then again, I appreciate that my son is in love with a show that has Stephen Fry as a narrator. In fact, whenever I do a fake English accent, my kid does a SF impression: "Hallo Poc-oy-o". Nice.

ads, marketing posters and tie-ups already started here! most aggressively marketed movie afaik...warner want to prove something against avenger. lol

Again, plot details are spoilers so they should go in the other thread.

General reactions and "reviews" are fine for this thread

Are you not the same fella that thinks what Heath did with the drink was a total accident? :p Can't say I agree with what you say about Two Face however. Thought it was pitch perfect.

You know your BatGAF history pretty well. I think you'll fit in fine here.

Damn hobos

Might be a stupid question but someone explain the screenings. Are they specifically held around the world for critics? Are regular fans getting into these? How are they getting in? Just bought tickets?

shame bale still gets hate still I bet he is a nice guy... Plus Hardy is BOSS as FUCK.

During the TDK days, Bale seemed pretty stressed out. More than just the Terminator Salvation stuff, he got into that fight with his mom and sister.

He seems like he's enjoying himself more these days (an Oscar might have something to do with it).

They've been held around the world for critics. We know they had one in NY yesterday, as well as Texas(?), and another that was supposed to be in LA yesterday, but was postponed until today. A couple regular fans have gotten into the screenings, because sometimes the critics can bring guests.

ah that makes sense, didn't think of bringing guests. Thanks.

edit: lol at hathaway in that pic DM just posted.

Morgan Freeman looks like he's playing his role from Shawshank Redemption.

And where the hell is the big bad villain of the movie?
hat-flying-off Cop

Memo to fans who saw TDKR- 60ish white older men will never think that's their idea of the best film of the year. Adjust accordingly.

I happen to really dig 60ish aged men, by the way. I think they get better as they get older. Just saying it ain't Dark Knight's best demo.

take that as you will.

This means this will become GAF's fav film

My buddy (a film critic) texted me after a screening of The Dark Knight Rises. Apparently, it's unbelievably brilliant. Best of the trilogy.

There won't be a fair, reasonable placement of this film until a year from now. The internet always goes balls deep into "best/worst ____ evar!" territory in the immediate aftermath of a huge movie like this. Hyperbole will be slung both ways. Which is to say that I'll put a lot more stock into July 2013 opinions than I will into July 2012 opinions. Especially for a Nolan film, as I've never seen a director whose films get either dramatically better or worse with latter day rewatches as his do.

It's almost like you're preparing yourself to hate this movie.

I'm gonna be very disppointed if the thread for TDKR is gonna be like the Inception thread on opening weekend. People were more focused on nitpicking than acutually say whether they liked it or not.

Uh, no? Read my post again. It's neutral. Just saying that hyperbole runs rampant early on (especially on a place like GAF where people are such huge fans/trolls) and its usually not until some time later that people truly give the movie an objective viewing.

Me? I hope I love it.

Thats silly. Most people will only watch it once. I believe that initial reaction is best.
Especially with IMAX 15/70 viewers

Those first couple tweets were from somebody who wasn't even there, so I wouldn't put much stock in whatever it's trying to say.

It was just saying, "Cool it on those Oscar expectations."
