So I wanted to buy an album, mp3 album. I'm in EU. The first stop was Amazon, naturally. Amazon UK says I must have an UK address to do that, so did they customer service via chat. They directed me to Amazon US. But US and DE both keep complaining about my purchase option that it is somehow - nothing spesific - just not right for digital shopping.
So I check them out. Nothing is wrong, my card is up to date and trying to delete it, it actually says I can't delete it because it is my default for digital purchases.
Then I have been browsing online for 20 minutes trying to find an option where to buy it from. Guess what, I can't find any. I can even find a vinyl version but no mp3 album. In 2020.
At this point I can't help thinking of the one way I would be able to get the album in mp3 format in two minutes or less.
Also, I find it absurd I can't buy and download any movie to my computer - like that would much to help piracy, they are all there already.
I mean, from business perspective and as means to fight piracy it would make sense to make music and movies more readily available. Game companies are luckily starting to figure that out but that is a slow process too.
I just find this strange. Like how if people stop going to theaters or concerts or whatever, the logic is to RAISE the prices to make up the lost income instead of lowering them and getting more visits from people who normally won't go. Because limiting purchasing options and raising prices feels illogical in the long run.
