The Division 2 Will Be Getting New Content This Year

Can't fucking wait. This game is amazing.

Would love to see them give us a proper next gen patch. Instead of just a 60fps unlock in BC.

push out the LoDs, take advantage of SSDs for loading, bump up the settings a bit, haptics and adaptive trigger support, etc.

Great game, but Ubi seems unable to make The Division work as a franchise. The games just feel dead on arrival every time. People say 'everyone's at endgame!', which doesn't bode well for attracting new players who need to team up to finish the campaign. I hope they make it work, because it's hugely fun, but I get the feeling that it's never going to be Warframe.

If it is just copy/paste of missions this will not end well. Also, NO WAY this will be more raids, new map, etc. as the team is working on a BAF Star Wars game. WHHHHHHHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY???????????

And I like the game(2nd most played game ever) but they have only scratched the surface of what this game/series could be.

This game has so much fucking potential but they've passed on the responsibilities to a developer that doesnt give an iota of a fuck.

So much potential for more gear sets, tech skills, enemy types, weapons. Heck why not make all missions have legendary difficulty. Why not add hacker class that gives you ability to hack enemy drones, warhounds and mini tanks for a limited time.

We go months before updates are rolled out and now we likely going to be waiting almost a year for new content.
Fucking halfwit cunts is Massive Entertainment.

I'd rather they focus on a next gen Division 3. However they could use this to experiment with gear sets find ways to make people want to explore certain sets. Don't be afraid of over powered sets initially and twerk them with updates.... Would love if they went back to 4 player raids... 8 was too hard to get quality people.

Ive been digging my heals back into Borderlands 3 and all it did was remind me of how shallow AF The Division series has been and HOW they cant make simple iterations of what you said(The fast travel from NYC to Washington is classic). Also playing games like Remenent and even outsiders how certain guns are better for certain builds. So much potential and so many stories not yet told at a time when it is most relevent. Work on boring old Star Wars(which i loved when i was a kid) or a series that is grounded in current day?????

The game never lived up to its potential, it could never reach their initial target in terms of gameplay and visuals.

Seeing this and where we are now in 2021...yeah these guys are hacks.

In 4K max details on PC it was pretty close.

But I do agree that UBISUX are lazy and should be doing much more with this franchise.

Hoping The Day Before wipes the floor with Division.

Doesn't look nearly as good but the gameplay is still there. Glad the tablet play didn't make it. The Dark zone in the 1st Division was an experience like no other in it's beginning stages.

It's not just recreating the image fidelity on screen here, the trailer had a hidden promise of seemsless exploration in desolate NYC, scavenging and open PVP.

What we have is great when it comes to recreating the city but it's definitely not a seemsless experience and the sense of exploration is lost.
Visuals got hit with poor character models, and they squandered their OG vision of a desolate world with ridiculous loot, we cosplaying in the streets of NYC and Washington now just cause they went after the money.

Game is a parody of itself.

That other studio is only gathering talks on their game cause they are riding on that initial feeling that the Division 1 gameplay trailer gave.

I honestly believe the game would have been genre defining it they somehow managed to make it more like a PUBG in NYC that included forms of PvE.

Sounds like the Dark Zone on PC to me...
But I do think they haven't handled neither game as good as they could of.
The Day Before seems to be what many envisioned The Division/2 to be.

No what I am saying is, imagine if they had gotten rid of their shitty skills, bullet sponges and made it like , a big zone where you can enter almost every building in NYC with the gameplay of PUBG. Game came out before that game and in the sorry state that PUBG came it went to define a new genre so I'm saying Ubisoft sucks, and is always chasing the latest trend where they could be the ones leading the charge with all their manpower (how many goddamn studios do they have?) and AAA output.

I have truly hit a brick wall with this game, TBH..I've levelled up to 40 but to unlock the 'exotics' and anything else seems like far too much of a tedious grind, replaying previous missions with just a few tweaks and ever increasing bullet sponge resistance of the enemies is not going to keep me interested.

..and don't get me started on the 'Optimising' bench in the Base Of Operations, I Haven't got the first idea how that is supposed to work and the Dark Zone is just a shit show of frustration, which I stay away from, to protect my joypad from coming in to violent contact with a wall.

I really can't complain too much though as I've had over 100hrs out of the game and it only cost me something like £6 ($8) in the Epic Christmas sale, inc the New York Warlords DLC, thanks to the Epic £10 discount voucher!

Is this a game I can play solo and enjoy? I really wanted to like borderlands but i felt it hated me for playing alone.

I rarely get time to organise a team to play something.

its kinda weird but im going back again and again to this game to play solo only, over 400 hrs now. its just beats all other similar style games. its just best control, best shooting from cover.

Yes, you can play the whole campaign alone but once you've completed it there will still be loads of weapons and other gear to obtain but the goals needed to be met, in order to get them, will reach a point where you'll only beat those goals when playing in co-op as the difficulty level ramps up considerably to the point of not really standing any chance of beating the enemies without the help of others.

Ill give it a go. If i do enjoy it i might find some friends to play with.

Imagine a next gen patch for the original. It very well could get damn close to those visuals.

I still enjoyed 2. The Resident Evil event brought me back to it. You give me the option of obtaining Hunk's outfit and I am there 😂

I want to like division but I always end up launching modern warfare instead. Core gameplay just isnt that tight even though it is competent third person shooter and I end up being quite bored of it quickly.

Thats because the director of the 2013 version left Massive in 2014.

Did div1 builds actually matter. Like tank builds etc. My time with div2 felt like builds don't matter just dps.
In the original game (Division 1), the different builds really made a difference in gameplay for about a year. I used to run a "Tactician" gear set skills/healer build that was really enjoyable to play with a squad of 4. We had another guy running a "Sentry" gear set sniper build and another guy who ran a "Striker" gear set DPS build. Having Tactician, Sentry and Striker allowed us to play with a fourth who could run pretty much anything. This was a lot of fun, as my buffs and healing skills kept us alive against the toughest content in the game, with our sniper dealing huge damage on headshots and our DPS guy mowing down waves of enemies.

There were a number of changes made in year 2 of the game, and as others have mentioned, the addition of higher level "exotic" items/weapons really splintered the various builds and made the game into a long grind for exotics.

For me, the biggest letdown from Division 1 was the game's Survival DLC. It was a really fun game mode upon release, as it was really challenging to stay alive and get gear in subzero temperatures in New York City. And, the only way to survive an encounter was to kill a "Hunter," who was incredibly deadly and tough to kill (tactically - i.e. not just because of high health/armor, although hunters had high health and armor). The problem was that the gear/loot drops were not randomized at all, and players memorized the locations of every piece of loot in the game mode, which took away the intense scavenging for life and death survival vibe. One of my teammates memorized every location in the game. Playing with him was like listening to someone read a fifty page paper word for word every time we played. If they had just added randomized gear/loot drops to the game, I would probably still be playing it today. And, it just kills me that they never built on this compelling game mode.

I just bought and downloaded this game because of the threads I've seen here the past week. I can't get into it until tomorrow but I was a little shocked to see it was over 100GBs with the update.

Funnily enough Div 2 just had its div 1 moment of becoming truly good at about the same timestamp. The summit / last update made the game one of the tightest looters on the market if you can take it for what it is, build diversity is pretty good and setting heroic difficulty in the open world turn it into some crazy version of Diablo with guns. Division 2's strength fundamentally reside in all the open world activities but it can only be seen at the hardest difficulty, when your gear starts being good enough to melt elites under 6secs, it has unprecedented moment to moment gameplay. Control points / bounties / hunter chase / raids are where it's at, everything else in the game is about setting the player up for it all

I wish they kept the snowy NYC aesthetic and just kept expanding on the boroughs. The map in this game is too samey. I get bored so quickly playing this, but I want to enjoy it as the gunplay is so tight. It can be a bit overwhelming with all the activities etc, and the stats seem very complicated. The specs seem like a big grind too?
