The Empire Strikes Back

It has memorable moments but it's incredibly overrated by most of the SW fandom. Good movie, not much more imho

Easily the best Star Wars. Wonderfully paced, greatly acted, fantastically scored.

Better than the first due to not needing to introduce the world and setting, better than the last due to not needing everything to be wrapped up with a pretty pink bow.

When I was a kid I'd scare myself silly thinking about these things coming over the horizon.

Easily the best star wars movie and a pretty damn good film in its own right. Hoth, Dagobah, and Bespin all introduced in the same film and perfectly realized with nothing more than miniatures, muppets, and sheer hutzpah. Boggles the mind. And the pacing is just so damn perfect -- it's a rollicking adventure from beginning to end with a climax that has to be one of the best on-screen duels in cinematic history. Yeah, I kind of like this movie :)

I think I'd like to hear you're reasoning on that.

IIRC, it was the least altered OT film. Best of the special editions by far. That said, Luke's scream as he plummets is beyond awful. I can't think if any other special edition changes to ESB that bother me too much. Might be repressing some.

My beef with ESB mostly comes from the fact its a bridge between the first and last. Not that it's ESB's fault, a lot of trilogies have the weaker transitioning middle chapter where nothing really happens because its all about the final battle. As a standalone it doesn't work quite as well as ANH for me. Its still a great movie, with many great moments, but that's it

Easily the best Star Wars film although I haven't seen it in years. I've been waiting until George Lucas or Disney releases a blu ray of the theatrical release, because fuck those special editions.

Empire is easily my favorite of the saga, maybe even one of my favorite films of all time. I recently had a marathon of the original trilogy and it was fantastic. I downloaded a fan remaster so it looked amazing and didn't have any of the bullshit Lucas has been adding over the years.

It's easily my favorite movie. Well tied for first anyway. I love how it dared to be different and darker. I remember seeing it in the theater and just being blown away, especially after that huge revelation.

I just watched all three movies yesterday for the first time in quite a few years. I've got to say that Empire Strikes Back was far and away more enjoyable than the other two. I think from now on I'll stick to just rewatching that one whenever I get the SW itch.
