What exactly is wrong is Sony and Microsoft this year? The shortage has now been on since April, more or less.

You can excuse them for underestimating the demand resulting from the $149 price drop for the first couple of months, but they have had plenty of time to catch up by now.

Maybe Sony is still having difficulty with the new model changeover. But if they can’t handle a hardware transition competently, then do it in February, not just before the holiday shopping season.

And what’s Microsoft’s excuse? Not enough black plastic in the world?

And you would think Nintendo might have been able to capitalize on this to sell a few dozen more Gamecubes. But they're, you know, Nintendo.

Yeah, they should have capitalized, Or taken a more pro-active approach, or some other meaningless fucking buzzword.

Extremely dark green plastic. I'll bet a run of them came back black and they had to scrap them.

But yeah, with the holidays coming it's getting harder and harder to find systems.

Luckily up here in Canada, systems are plentiful!
Except for the Crystal Xbox, that thing's selling out like crazy.

The Xbox isn't black. Hold it up to a bright, clear (Not whitish) light.
It's DARK, DARK Green

Maybe they didn't expect the price tag of 150$, the release of halo 2 alongside with thanksgiving and christmas to raise their console sales
