I present to you, Russel Mulcahy's Highlander. Score, music and lyrics, Queen with Michael Kamen. Vocals, Freddie Mercury.

It IS a musical. Anyone who says it isn't is an effete Spanish peacock. The lyrics accompany and match the plot, story and action. It's thematic, scored and lyrical. It is, in short, a kind of magic. It will never be matched. It is STILL eminently watchable and it is still one of the greatest movie scores ever recorded, with incredibly memorable songs, melodies and appropriate moods. It even captures a decade.

It is not available on Netflix, because it IS TOO AWESOME. Don't act like you wouldn't go see this on Broadway, because you WOULD.

Don't act like a remake with a PROPER Muse soundtrack wouldn't be amazing. Because it WOULD.
Happy Hallow'een, Ladies.

And don't act like Connor MacLeod and the Kurgan wouldn't be the best Soul Calibur unlocks in all of history.

does the south park movie count as a musical? if so, that's it.

Yes it does. And it's an excellent, Oscar-worthy musical. It's just not the best one. Team America ALMOST makes it, for what it's worth, but the music is more thematic than specific.

Highlander has more film, as well as better music.

If you have that big a hard on for Highlander, don't dare see the sequel, where they throw out the entire premise of the first movie and say they weren't immortals, they're aliens and Sean Connery shows up for a cringe-inducing cameo that he completely did for the cash.

I haven't seen the third one, but heard they act like the second one never happened.

They didn't make a sequel. They only made one movie. And then they stopped. Because it was so perfect.

Sure, some fanboys will photoshop fake sequel posters, or write fanfic about a would-be TV show. But those things never happened. So it's cool.

OK?

Lol, okey dokey.

I think it's Canon that the 2nd one was a hypoxemic dream while he was dead once that never actually happened, and all subsequent films occurred in an alternate dimension of similar but not equally awesome circumstances of the first.
