The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special | Trailer

Lmao, I keep forgetting that Gamora is dead. Every single time it's been mentioned I'm like "oh right, that happened".

Anyway, looking forward to seeing live action Cosmo. Not sure if the GotG game's Cosmo can be topped, though.

Question: if I am not a big marvel fan, and do not know much about it, would I enjoy that PS5 game of theirs about the GOTG that recently came out? Can I control the other characters directly or am I forced to play as the guy with the guns only?

Just finished it. Other characters are not controlled directly, they are closer to abilities with cooldowns. It is shooty, but feels just a bit tactile with movement, punches, and team powers.

It's good for a low price. It is grown worthy a few times, but can make you smile too. It's very talky and cutscene heavy, but looks great, sounds good. It moves along and has variety. I don't like most Marvel stuff, the movies are often fine but I'll walk away, and this was good enough to beat.

Darn, I was hoping I could switch between each party member so I could use the green skinned chick full time. Still, will look in on this soon. Thanks for the info.

It was fine. But the target audience is weird. It's really hokey like it's written for kids but then it involves binge drinking and a 90s heartthrob. So it's targeting 30+ year olds with the subject matter but with PG dialog.

Groot suit riot.

I loved it. But groot was a man I’m a suit and he was a bulky dude and not slender. But it was a lot of fun. Especially the 2 songs.

I guess I had low expectations as something they were just going to Chuck out the door. Surprising production value and genuinely fun to watch. I think at this point GOTG is all that's left for me to care about in the MCU (and with Gunn leaving, that's basically gone too). Anyway it was fun and made me laugh! Watch this!

They saved money on CG because Groot was a suit and not a CG character.

I love Marvel and I respect James Gunn (can’t wait to see how he handles the DCU), but this is the last thing I’d ever want to watch again.

The songs are awful, it’s garish to look at. In fact, the whole thing just feels “garish”. That’s how I’d describe it.

Like it was said above, it has adult subject matter but feels like it’s written for children.
Idk I just found it really annoying. I nearly turned it off in the first few minutes as those completely earth-like aliens played the grating pop-punk version of a Christmas song.

I’m glad James Gunn has his own voice though. He seems passionate about his work and there is heart. It’s just that his writing and directing style don’t connect with me.

I rate it above Star Wars, and loved that since the 70;s.

100%. GotG is what the Star Wars prequels and subsequent movies should have been.
Alien designs, worlds, character relationships, and action is all leagues above.

Have you tried any of his non-superhero movies like The Belko Experiment and Dawn of the Dead?

Both are amazing in their own rights.

I remember watching Dawn of the Dead in the cinema. Big lanky fucker, friend, he jumped at everything. Shook the whole film, I nearly pissed myself laughing. Then again I read horror growing up. Was simply funny as he was a tall rugby player.

One day he tried to attack me (kids) I booted him hard in the bollocks, he was in pain. So I said lets stop. Fucker said yes, we shock hands, it was over. we were chatting and hit me full force in the face ran away, i was gushing blood. What a coward.

And zombies has him shaking! :D

Didn't find it particularly fun but it's an ok Christmas special I guess

It's funny though , one of the issues with the Avenger Games was that the characters just looked like MCU knockoffs, but in a weird twits after playing the GotG game I now find the MCU versions to be the knockoffs.
Cosmo having a male voice with a heavy Russian accent in the game was way funnier than him sounding like a kid, I wonder if they changed it because of the Ukraine war

I thought it was just ok. The were a couple lines I laughed at, but like others mentioned the dialog very kid like. I started watching the latest Thor movie right after it and wow the dialog in that movie was actually worse.
