'The Last of Us: Remastered' coming to PS4, July 2014, [1080p, targeting 60 fps]

This excessive and unrealistic violence is just annoying.

Just dont buy the game, it isn't for everyone. If it disturbs or annoys you, there are a lot of other games that do not have any gore that you could play. You have a choice not to play it my friend ;)

Those gifs are like made for me so I can shut up now about the gore lol.

I find it even better than the gore in Gears since this are humans, regular humans make it more brutally incredible god damn.

Those gibs baby!!

INJECT IT TO ME.

Not on my ass :p

So fucking good.

Just hoping the textures got a decent resolution upgrade.

The brutality and gore works so well for this game I think, especially in the multiplayer so it does suck that the game was(is?) censored in the multiplayer in Europe. The exploding bits definitely add to the intensity I think, as blowing people's heads off is intensely exhilarating when you do it to another player and brutally cringe-worthy when it happens to you and your team.

Definitely adds a deep sense of brutality, especially in the multiplayer. As a fan of slasher movies especially, I'm a big fan. haha

Kind of annoying they don't just have gore off by default, then hidden in the gameplay settings theres an option to turn it on. Would that not satisfy the ratings people?

Bit sad its censored in the UK. Would prefer to have the game as developers intended it.

Saying that, don't think the gore really adds anything... still found the MP in the UK version to have a pretty brutal feel regardless. Pretty weird the single player didnt have the gore though.

Hope this doesnt affect future ND games, and if so, leave the UK out of it! Ha ha

Probably not all that different.
If you count native 1080p, at 60FPS, with upgraded high-res textures, new lighting model, actual worthy anti-aliasing, cutscene-level character models in gameplay and whatever other upgrades they implemented as 'not all that different', sure I can see how you can say that.

Well it's yet to be seen...

I imported from the US on PS3 to get the special edition, so getting an uncut version was a happy accident. If I need to import again to get the season pass unlocks, I wonder if it is safe to get the PSN version? I remember the GTA V download to be inferior to the disc version, at least that's how it was reported. Are we safe from such a phenomenon in the case of TLOU?

No such thing will ever exist on PS4.

Think i'll have to cancel my £31 zavvi preorder and get the 365games one! cant see why not :p

on the page though it says "Any future DLC may require a US PSN account", wat? :<

Of course, but logic tells me it'll be a nice upgrade. Naughty Dog are master coders, heck, a native 1080p resolution rendered at 60FPS is automatically a huge upgrade over the blurry (yet still pretty) PS3 version with frequent FPS drops.

That alone makes it a hell of a lot different.

Wasn't the GTAV issue due to the disc version streaming from both the disc and the hdd while the downloaded version was limited just to the HDD cause there was no disc involved? Considering all PS4/XBO games are installed to the HDD and run from the HDD, including games on disc, TLoU PS4 or any other PS4/XBO game shouldn't have the same issue.

Games can only recognize DLC from the same region. So if you want to buy DLC for a US game you need to make a US PSN account and purchase it from the US PS Store. Once you've installed the DLC you can switch back to your EU account to play it.

Yeah . If you fully installed GTAV to xbox 360 (both discs) it over loaded the hard drive sata controller and caused mad pop in. You can get around this by distributing the load. Install the play disc on a flash drive, or if you wanted to, run off the disc.

I ran on a flash drive. I personally hate when the disc spins!

Should be! :D It would be nice to see a showcase of what they've done. I can appreciate they're busy though so I'll just have to wait until release.

What's unrealistic about a point blank shotgun to the face in this shot?

Shouldnt't that be obvious? A head neither explodes into nothing but blood nor does it just fly away as a whole. The skull is rather soft in the front and will be damaged by the bullet(s). So it the head will either be damaged quite badly leaving a mess of bone and brain or it will fly away in pieces but sure it won't be seperated from the neck that way.

ah ok, if thats all i have to do to get the dlc then thats fine, i guess the us store has no problem taking debit cards from other countries as forms of payment? :p

No you need US card otherwise it won't work on US SPN. Just buy a few PSN cards from Amazon US site, they accept international credit/debit cards.

Not that hard.

We already know its 1080p at 60fps.

We know they said they are working on textures, and we even have seen some upgraded textures and even geometry in the trailers.

They also said Cut scene models are used in gameplay now.

What we have not really seen yet are the upgrades to lighting and shadows that they have talked about.

I am sure there will be other little enhancements here and there too. I am hoping for some improved water, DoF, and reflections.

We also saw what looks to be upgraded explosions.

They game won't look the same, the question is How much different will it look.

Yeah, I'm keeping my expectations in check. But it's amazing what even a bump in resolution and framerate does for a game, without the other additions. They haven't mentioned AA and I'm REALLY hoping they added some, but I'm worried we'll still get a jagfest :(

Considering the AA in the PS3 version was dynamic, sometimes it worked well but much of the time it shut off completely for performance, I assume the PS4 version will be able to keep it on a much higher percentage of the time if it hasn't been replaced/improved completely.

That's cool, I didn't even know it was there in the PS3 version! It's been a while since I played, so my memory on things like that is a bit fuzzy, I just remember the game looking phenomenal with some rough edges like low res textures and aliasing. Thanks for the info

There's honestly only a handful of times where it worked. I remember because it shocked me how clean it looked at a couple points on my last playthrough and then a few minutes later it would be jaggy again.

I stand by what I said, it'll have graphical upgrades of course but I don't expect a massive difference like you imply. It's still a PS3 game, after all. It sure would be easier to comment on this if Sony/ND released just a couple of direct feed screenshots.

I agree with jett, at its core it's a PS3 game. That means the majority of things are influenced by the 480MB memory limit and the rest of the specifications of the PS3.

Of course the same game at 1080p will look nicer than at 720p.

I don't consider these things massive differences. Massive differences is when you're talking generational leaps.

This is becoming harder to wait for. I just watched some MP videos and really want to play it again. Also, I only played through the SP once and never bought Left Behind. The only problem is I traded in my PS3 copy to help cover for the PS4 version.

I have no problem with violence in video games. I have a problem with the fact that it's impossible to lose both legs by a single shot.
