Hopefully ND releases a comparison video because there are plenty of differences in the ps4 version apart from the boosted resolution and framerate.
I dont know what the general consensus is with this remaster and the comparison shots that we are getting but I will come out and say it- im not impressed.
I don't see how anyone could be? I mean I think we are giving ND more credit than they deserve with this remaster. Yes the TLOU is a remarkable game and it obviously holds true in the PS4 version but we need to stop focusing on graphics. I cant believe how we are picking at the most subtle, unnoticeable changes that can only be "seen" ( and I say that while holding a magnifying glass ) with direct PS3/PS4 images.
This is essentially a port- remaster no

It's 1080/60 with visual improvements while the original was 720 and struggles to hit 30. Sums up a Remaster quite well, especially when ND has claimed that the gameplay and cutscene models are the same now. Slight improvement to those in cutscenes will be a large change in gameplay. I was expecting zero improvements to cutscenes aside from framerate and res.I dont know what the general consensus is with this remaster and the comparison shots that we are getting but I will come out and say it- im not impressed.

Sleeve looks the same, seat has added DoF obscuring it.Maybe my eyes are wonky, but the textures on her sleeve and on the seat look better in the PS3 pic

Hahaha
It's not in the comparison image but the improvement to Joel's hair and beard are the biggest thing to me. Looks much more detailed now.The visual difference between the sleeves were an instant standout to me. Guess I'm seeing things.
Needs to be quoted since apparently some missed it.Wishmaster92's prerendered driving scene comparisons are using a pre-E3 2012 shot for the PS3 version.
Most of those improvements were made during PS3 development and the heavy video compression is probably responsible for the lack of grain.
Wow, you can really see the power of the PS4 in that comparison (8GB of GDDR5). If the labels weren't there I'd think it was PSX vs. high-end PC.The should've used a direct screenshot like i did here

I missed it. Whoops. Carry on.Needs to be quoted since apparently some missed it.
I was wondering why the "PS3" image in the comparison seemed strange, like the missing eyelashes that are definitively there on the screenshots I took, when I played the game.
lots of games feature eyelash-less people. scaryI didn't realize she doesn't seem to have eyelashes in the ps3 version. Kinda weird now that I notice it.
Joel having a more detailed beard and head of hair alone is worth the 60 dollar price of admission.
$50
Keep up.
For real. Dont know how I fucked that one up. I'd still pay that additional 10 for those extra deets on the follicles and stubble though.
Dude. Eyelashes, though.
She does. That comparison is using a frame from the scene prior to the game's release (earlier build).I didn't realize she doesn't seem to have eyelashes in the ps3 version. Kinda weird now that I notice it.

Why do Naughty Dog games attract completely pointless troll posts? We've got enough crap over in the Uncharted Remastered thread.
I'm just having a go at the people that said this is a huge difference. If that is all the difference between PS3 and PS4 was, then good night to advancements in graphics.![]()

I like how you based your post on a single post and neglected all previous posts (in this thread or others) but whatever suits you..I like how you based your next-gen expectations on a remaster and neglected all next gen games (released or announced) but whatever suits you..
You would be able to start the download when the US release date is and then play it as soon as it's downloaded.I live in the UK but if I was to download the US version and play it on my UK account would I get access to the game on the US release date (29th July) instead of the UK one which is 1st August?

Well it would be good to at least check this specific thread if you plan on posting in this thread?Well, I happen to stumble upon this post and replied to it, do I have to do background check before commenting?.

back to topic, I'm not really expecting much of this game graphically since it was built for PS3, 1080p/60 is good enough for me to upgrade.

Based on your interest in The Last of Us, Killzone: SF, The Order 1886 and Infamous Second Son I'd say wait until The Last Guardian before you pick up a PS4.I'm awfully tempted to pick up a console + game bundle or (if said bundle doesn't hit Australia) a cheaper PS4 + an imported copy, but deep down I know I should wait until the system has more tantalising exclusives, by which point it'd likely be a little cheaper. Without looking too far ahead, I'd say the only other exclusives I'm interested in currently are Killzone: SF (despite its somewhat sour reception), Infamous: Second Son and kindasorta the not-too-far away The Order: 1866.
I didn't try to make it better. There is no remastered version of that post, I think it was perfect the first time.Doesn't make your last senseless troll posts a bit better here.

If it's 1080p, 60fps, it will look completely different to the PS3 version. Unfortunately what they've shown so far (mostly cutscenes) utterly fails to demonstrate this. I don't know what they playing at. The cutscenes were easily the best looking parts of the game, in the least need for an improvement. It was during gameplay where it often looked muddy and occasionally choppy, and would benefit hugely from the resolution and framerate bump. Why aren't they showing this?It looks pretty much the same as the PS3 version though it'll play better.
