That's exactly how much the special steelbook edition costs where I ordered it (Portuguese site) so it still feels overpriced to me.

You don't need a headset, but it improves teamwork quite a bit:

"mollie!"
"3 of them up on the dam!"
"sniper on the dam walkway!"
"he's reviving is teammate!"
"rush in, he's healing"
"they're up on SAMMY's roof."
"watch behind you!"
"player x has covert 2/can't be marked!"

I'd guess it might. Was probably a placeholder initially.

If it doesn't drop I might switch to digital, and then keep my fingers crossed for a last minute discount for PS3 digital version owners

I use the pack-in headset just fine. You don't get one cheaper than that :)

I've literally said all of those in some form while playing MP.

I hate multiplayer shooting games but I played so much Last of Us multiplayer I am seriously considering buying the game again just for it...

No he's kind of right... TLoU was the most perfect fit for horde mode. Sometimes you have these things devs jam into games because they're trendy, but TLoU needs horde. The gameplay is just too good and SP story, while great, is sometimes annoying if you just want to drop in for a bit of combat. And MP doesn't scratch that itch for a multitude of reasons, among them the fact you cannot do any of the environmental kills from SP, and just the general fact that sometimes you don't want to play with other people.

Horde would have been a great fit and I would trade the competitive mode for it a hundred times over.

Of course, having both would be nice. But since they apparently didn't have the resources or desire to do both, I'm somewhat peeved I'm stuck with a PvP I don;t like that much over a PvE I would play the shit out of.

It never occurred to me but wouldn't it be great to have Challenge Rooms a la Arkham series? That would increase Replay Value even further.

You could have Predator rooms with Challenges and Medals just like they did in the Arkham series, amount of supplies given to you at the start of the challenge would depend on the difficulty you choose and the Medals would require you to do stuff like "Finish a challenge without using bottles/bricks" or "Lure 3 clickers with a bottle/brick and kill them with a single Molotov"

It would have been so much better to tie the meta game to something like that as opposed to letting it seep into, and by its nature, undermine the integrity of the PvP.

TLoU is my favorite game of all time, but I still think the meta game as it exists is indefensible garbage.

That's the key, it does the job. It sounded ok and that's all you need.
There isn't nearly enough people using headsets in MP but will give you a huge advantage. Just being able to tell a teammate someone is coming up behind them can mean the difference in the game.

60fps has been tentatively confirmed, unfortunately we still haven't received confirmation that Ellie is still in the game. I haven't heard word either way, but I'm hoping we at least get a tweet about it soon, as it would be really disappointing if they do in fact cut her character from the game.

How badly I would love a "Metagame/Clan On/Off" switch or something. After I have all loadout points, I just can't stand it. "Oh good, I now have to change how I play and use weapons I don't really feel like using because survivors and whatever." I wish I could be done with that. Even if you choose to not care, you still get interrupted all the time with the pop ups like Malaria Outbreak and Hunter Attack and have the constant messages all over your screen "0/2 downs with a stick, so and so is cleaning the latrine, whatshisname is making out with a fish."

I already went thru both firefly/hunter 12 week cycles so I just ignore it.
