Oh hey, same here. I bought a copy off the amazon.jp marketplace a few days ago for a great price, though the agent fees and exchange rate spoiled the deal a bit. OH WELL. Still cheaper than Play-Asia, and I got the DLC card. For some reason I really wanted that DLC card, even though I will probably never listen to that remixed sound track. I probably shoulda just bought a used copy and saved a few more bucks.Tain said:I bit the bullet with Deathsmiles IIX, shipped today.
Should be festive!
Yeah, they love money. That's why they sell the games as $70-100 retail editions rather than $10 downloads.Barkley's Justice said:i need it on digital. cave probably likes money. make it happen, cave.

Yes Boss! said:Still waiting on mine. Tomorrow hopefully. Anybody with the LE want to put up a photo of the box. The one in the pick-up thread is hard to tell how thick it is. Kinda curious if it is like the Mushi and DSIIX box or a different unique size like the DS LE.
Also, I've got a $7 off $50 and a $12 off $100 at Play-asia if anybody needs it to order a Cave product. PM me.

I'm actually a bit ashamed to admit I'm using the stock 360 pad since I don't have a stick yet, though I'm not sure how much better that will make me. Shmups in general are still a new thing for me in the last year or so.

Go for this one and you will be set for the generation:

Also a question about the new DoDonPachi...does it have the iPhone soundrack as an option?
A bit pricey but it is THE stick for 360 shooters. You'll wind up using it for a bunch of games, so the price per game is not bad. Incredibly sexy too. And they won't be around forever.amishpriest99 said:Thanks for the tip! December's a light month for me purchase-wise, so I should be able to fit this in somewhere.

fml.
And damn, is Strong that easy? I always heard it was intended to be an easy mode, but I had no clue how much easier it was supposed to make things. If it's too easy, I might want to skip it. I don't like spoiling things (don't even credit feed when I first try a game), I'm weird like that.
iconoclast said:Oh, and I love how you can take secret routes through the stages and fight the Dai Ou Jou bosses instead of the usual midboss. Awesome fanservice.
Thanks! Exactly what I was looking for!amishpriest99 said:As promised, here's another pic of the DDP LE box...hopefully it gives a better sense of the depth:

The arrange modes look ridiculous.. just when you thought the arcade version was silly enough, the screen is just a flood of bullets and lasers and hyper cancel spam. It reminds me of a euroshmup where they barf bullets at you and you get a shield (hyper in this case) as a handicap to survive it instead of the developers having to design something theoretically dodgeable.
Tain said:I don't know what to think yet, but I'm kinda shocked. Played one credit, got pretty damn far. I thought only the Strong mode had autobomb.
I really wasn't following this game. Funky.

That seems almost too long for PA. Over the years I have had a few packages reach 6+ weeks and finally arrive. It has always been during the december month. I've never ever had a package not show though. They eventually get to me.JustAnotherOtaku said:Got mine from a friend in HK. Well, not sure if he ordered from PA to ship on to me or got it locally. Either way, I'm hoping to have it by the weekend.
On the topic of PA, anyone else had any bother with the lately being really, really slow? Think I mentioned it before in a different thread but, using their standard post, I'm currently into my sixth week of waiting on a PSP game![]()

I've pretty much switched to NCSX. And I've started ordering from amazon.jp.
Gosh, I miss Lik-sang :-(
Next year I'm gonna try some new places for ordering. Amiami sounds like a good outfit. Will check them out.JustAnotherOtaku said:Yeah same with me. They always get here, I just don't understand how it takes any more than a month to ship a package from HK to the UK :/
What makes it more frustrating is that I've been using them since early 2005 and back then it would be a week tops for delivery.
I used NCSX in the past as although their shipping was a little expensive, it took 4 or 5 days maximum to get stuff to me which was great. Having someone in HK that can get me the stuff quicker and cheaper is hard to beat though
Add me to those who really miss Lik-Sang too :'(

Really digging Tenso. From amazon.jp to my door in CA is about 4-5 days. You pay a little more but the service is excellent.
No DoDonPachi R for me todayWe got a foot of snow here so everything shut down and no mail delivery. Can't complain, though, as we got the day off as well. Hopefully tomorrow for the long weekend!
Good to hear all the remarks here that the game is on the easier side!
I get a page load error when I try to go through checkout from amiami :/Chiaroscuro said:amiami is the best place to buy recent games from Japan period. It is reliable, cheap (all games comes with a discount in the retail suggest price), the shipping is fast and affortable, all pre-order bonus are delivered, perfect. But they do not keep stocks of games, just the newly released ones. Once the batch is sold out, you cannot order anymore. But there are huges (as far as 55% off) discounts to sell old stock.
as for deputity services, I really like to handle with shoppingmalljapan when buying stuff from yahoo auctions (or even amazon). Best prices on the net.

http://www.cave-stg.com/?p=491EOJ said:Mihara says that at 11pm Japan time, on December 2, 2010, Microsoft finished tests on the patch and informed him and 5pb that the patch causes the game to crash once it has been installed. He goes on to explain that the original game was developed in an old development environment, and transitioning that to a new development environment is difficult, hence all of these continual problems.
He states Cave is helping out, and if they can find a solution to the crashing problem it will be released in 2 weeks. I have heard him say this many times over the last year, so I would not get your hopes up just yet. Still, he seems optimistic because Cave has a lot of experience in this area.
I'm shocked they didn't just do a recall/re-release in the first place. It's not like they printed millions of the discs.. couldn't be more than a 50k printing.iconoclast said:Looks like the fabled Dai Ou Jou patch has run into more issues, and it has been delayed yet again:
