DAWN OF THE DEAD (2004) : Uncensored Director's Cut

Finally, after over 7 months this is coming out!!! I've been waiting anxiously for this one ever since I saw it in the theatres (3 times). It's just an awesome horror movie, IMO. It's got a talented cast of actors, tons of gore, great kills (shotgun, chainsaw, etc). Definitely one of the better horror movies I've seen come out of Hollywood in the past decade. Maybe even the best one.

BUY IT!!

BTW, this may be a good opportunity to get recommendations for the best halloween movie to show alongside Dawn of the Dead.

*keep in mind that I haven't yet seen Halloween and thus have no idea if the movie has anything to do with the actual holiday.

I love that part! US movies have too often fallen in to the funk that everything works out in the end(hero and possibly one other survives) and/or we're given a complete explanation for everything. I like that shit goes way wrong in DoD.

Edit: Forgot to mention the most kick ass DVD release of the year did, indeed, come out two weeks ago.

Still need to pick it up myself, but I'm dead confident that any film this good (and, trust me, it's stunning) which gets the three disc - count 'em! - three disc Criterion Collection treatment is going to make for an astounding DVD set.
