The most popular portable game EVAR to DS

Oh my gosh this is going to be awesome! They can make it so that you will use the stylus and touch-screen to **insert unique-sounding but ultimately pointless and unsatisfying control scheme here**

I bet it will be ugly like this one:

They should really go back to that Russian theme...

One cool mode they could do would be to have a dual-screen mode that lets you play with an extra deep well across both screens....

Also, the multiplayer functions could be cool, especially if it's online with any kinda ranking system at all.

Don't be such a drag!

Tap where you want piece to go
Stroke right = rotate right
Stroke left = rotate left
Stroke down = drop

PEOPLE CAN NEVER REMEMBER WHETHER A IS CLOCKWISE OR COUNTERCLOCKWISE, ONLY DS MAKES TETRIS ACCESSIBLE TO THE MASSES

Too bad nintendo didn't still have the rights to tetris, I have no faith in THQ whatsoever to make this good :(

To this day I ask myself: HOW DO YOU SCREW UP TETRIS????
Try THQ's last Tetris, where you can move blocks around at the bottom of the playfield infinitely as long as you don't let off the controller...

I had an idea for a DS version of Tetris:

Every line you make gives you a quarter of a point. Every point you get gives you a "block". Using the touchscreen you can add blocks that you've accumulated to the currently falling piece, to create a custom piece while frantically trying to get it in place and rotated with simple controls (i.e. two arrows at the top of the touchscreen are for rotating, use the Dpad to control movement and speed).

Alternately, in a multiplayer mode, your opponent could choose to add blocks to your falling pieces to make it tough on you.

Someone needs to make a variant of Tetrinet and put that on the DS. I want to own 5 bitches at a time dammit

Speaking of Tetrinet, do people still play that?

Why don't they have Tetris running on both screens, and see if the player can keep up (meaning basically two games of Tetris going on at once).

You could hit the shoulder buttons to take control of the bottom or upper screen and then maybe have string combos, where you can wipe out blocks from the top screen to the lower screen etc.

THQ made Tetris Worlds.

THQ shall forever be known as "the only company capable of messing up Tetris."

I want a damn Tetrinet port. That's probably the best version of Tetris i've played, plus it's online. When did Nintendo lose the rights to Tetris anyway? I thought they had the TMed anything with -tris at the end.

Great idea, seriously. It could be a mode of play. The thing I'd want is so that when you play mulitplayer, the other people's screens are shown on your bottom scren.

BRING TETRIS BACK TO THE SOVIET UNION!

Why the hell do they have those stupid backgrounds like you're on another fucking planet now? One of the cool quirks of the original Tetris (aside from the fact that it was simple and fun) was that it was proudly Russian.
