The new Adult Swim show SUCKS ASS

The crazy thing is that it had so much potential. Just seems the creators just took a ton of cliches and threw them against a wall.

Wasn't too bad. Maybe it'll get better as it progresses... Kinda like Home Movies did.

... Home Movies... :(

Anyways, I have high hopes for Venture Brothers. Brock Samson = Kicker of many asses.

Is brak show coming back? How could they can Brak for this.

OH fuck the Venture Brothers, the pilot sucked ass too. A bad parody of Johnny Quest.

Brak's already back... Made a small deal about it too. I was never a fan of Brak, so I don't know if they've been making new episodes or not.

:(...

Anyways, what's up with Harvey Birdman? I was enjoying those reruns, damn it. Axe Mission Hill and make room for Birdman.

No, Brak is still cancelled. They're just showing old episodes, that's all.

Venture Brothers was shit (at least the pilot, anyway). And I could tell from the commercials that the show they put on tonight was gonna be shit.

Baby Blues really needs to go though. I watched like 5 minutes of it tonight just for the hell of it, and I literally sat there stone-faced.

Oh, and apparently Sealab takes over the double dip midnight slot for ATHF this week.

Birdman was supposedly cancelled, according to TVTome, but just recently they've come back and said that it's not true, thank god.

Finally Confirmed, Birdman Not Canceled!
DIRECT FROM THE ADULT SWIM BOARD - Hope.
Posted By SwimBuddah; Adult Swim Board Admin
It's not cancelled. Who have they got working over at tv tome? (Editor's Note: Me! How are ya? Try responding to our emails, or submit something to avoid this in the future.) The bump last week was a total joke directed at Erik Richter, co-creator of the series. It was anger over the fact that he had promised to write the bumps surrounding last week's show and then went on a long lunch that made it impossible. They've already started work on the next 13. Thirteen more for you to hate!
Now personally, I'll take whatever the admins at AdultSwim.com have to say over any other board or news story anyday. They're actually there, in the office. They can throw a rock and hit a show creator. But, our news didn't come from them, it came from Turner. Let me repeat that one... because it bares repeating. Our news about Harvey Birdman being canceled came from Turner Head Offices. Not AdultSwim.com or Williams Street.
Now with that said, I'm fixing the guide. I've put the show back up as "Returning Series." As I said already, I'll take their word over Turner's anyday. I just wish they'd respond more frequently. And to SwimBuddah, thank you for clearing it up, and keep up the work you do.

I love the show, can't wait for more deadbeat HB and WB characters to return in their half-arsed glory :D

I mean, come on, who thought up the name 'Ding-A-Ling'?

Yeah, pilot not so hot. My favorite part was actually the text after the show went off. Congratulations to the crew of Stroker & Hoop. You may now IMDB yourselves.

I enjoyed Venture Bros., though I can see the premise getting old pretty fast.

Nah, but since the voice of Brak is an Adult Swim producer who does other bit roles on the shows, it's easy enough for them to keep sticking new Brak material into commercials.

It was horrible, but it was also just a pilot. WS has a 13 episode order, so they must've seen some potential somewhere.

Only a few more months till S1 on DVD! Yay!

Andy actually quit WS around when Brak got cancelled. Not sure what he's doing, although he used to jump between WS and Boomerang before so it wouldn't surprise me if he still worked at CN in some capacity. Now that I think of it I seem to remember hearing about him in connection with that awful Friday night live-action cartoon show "thing" they do.

I was just looking up Home Movies on IMDB. I had no idea Brendon Small was from Springfield, IL. Thats pretty sweet.

Adult Swim new episodes are damn near unwatchable now. I can't believe they've been falling off so hard.

ATHF 4th Season: First really bad season. I still enjoy the 1st and 2nd seasons. 3rd one was ok. Need to get these on DVD.

Robot Chicken: Not even close to enjoyable. Why does everything Seth Green touch suck complete ass? The only exception was Family Guy and that show is pretty overrated but somewhat enjoyable.

Sealab 2021 3rd Season: Its been shit around the time Harry Goz died. The episodes were starting to slip towards the end when he was still alive. Barely watchable today. I still enjoy the first season. I should really get around to snagging the DVD.

Tom Goes to the Mayor: Two flush corn log.

Venture Bros.: Looks like I'm one of the few people here that consider it watchable. Maybe because Brock's voice was Putty from Seinfeld.

Haven't seen too much of the fourth season, but I thought the third was their best yet.

Eh, it's not great, but I do derive some enjoyment out of it. When you take such a shotgun-blast approach to making a comedy show, there's bound to be a few nuggets in there.

Man, I am totally with you on this one. It's such a damn shame. The whole thing reminds me of Newsradio and Phil Hartman.

Tom Goes to the Mayor: Two flush corn log.
This show rocks, or at least it did until Adult Swim showed the same damn four episodes over and over again until I wanted to gouge my eyes out.

Venture Bros.: Looks like I'm one of the few people here that consider it watchable. Maybe because Brock's voice was Putty from Seinfeld.
Brock Samson is the one thing that keeps me interested in Venture Bros. It's an odd fit in the AS humor lineup, because it's not so much funny as it is cool.

New Family Guy ought to shake things up a little, at least, and Brendon Small (Home Movies, aka THE BEST DAMN CARTOON EVER ON AS EVER, creator) has something brewing too called "Deathclock" about a heavy metal band rocking out all over the place.

S1 of Home Movies? That's been on DVD for awhile now. S2 is supposed to come out around May.

And add another vote for Venture Brothers. It's the brain child of one of the writers from The Tick, and in some episodes, it REALLY shows. Some of the early episodes aren't too hot, but there are some that are downright hysterical. The show really hit its stride in the later half of the season, and I hope that the next one keeps that going.

First Season of Home Movies is Comedy Classic Gold. Robot Chicken has some funny skits and the others aren't quite as funny. Voltron got served is still my favorite.

I'm just waitin for the premiere of Perferct Hair Forever so they can have a block with Anime and a show mocking anime in the same hour.

And I heard their increasing the AS block by an hour. Haterz "AM CRY!"?

BTW. Seth Green IS NOT Seth McFarlane!

Seth Green's the voice of Chris.
Which is a complete and utter waste of Seth Green, IMO. Chris is the least funny character on the show.

Seth Green's the voice of Chris.

And the creator of Robot Chicken. Someone above implied Seth Green might of been the person responsible for Family Guy and American Dad.

Not really. But it did strike me as odd that so many people were talking about VB as if it were new. I defend that by knowing that it premiered in Canada last night.

So, why the hell was this thread bumped?

...might have.

"Might of", "should of", and "could of" are truly among the stupidest things you can possibly type.

Anyway, no they didn't. It was said that everything Seth Green touches turns to shit, implying only that he was in some was involved in Family Guy.

Cuz I didnt feel like starting my own thread and its about the newest one that mentions Adult Swim and Home Movies.

Haven't seen too much of the fourth season, but I thought the third was their best yet.

There's some good ones in the 3rd season. Just not as many as the second. The first season has been their best. Still probably the best Adult Swim has to offer. Well, maybe its tied with Venture Bros.

Eh, it's not great, but I do derive some enjoyment out of it. When you take such a shotgun-blast approach to making a comedy show, there's bound to be a few nuggets in there.

It tries too hard to be funny. Thats the main problem of the show. Thats also the problem with the past few seasons of The Simpsons as well.

Brock Samson is the one thing that keeps me interested in Venture Bros. It's an odd fit in the AS humor lineup, because it's not so much funny as it is cool.

I don't think its funny but definitely worth watching. I think its a great counter to AS's typically bizarre humor that, I as I pointed out, is quickly getting stale. Adult Swim needs more of these types of shows until it either gets some more funny programming back. I try to watch it whenever I can.

Is there any new Harvey Birdman anymore? That show is hit and miss but I noticed it hasn't been on for a couple of months.

It was said that everything Seth Green touches turns to shit, implying only that he was in some was involved in Family Guy.

I said that because everything he does, he sucks ass. Take a gander at what he has done. The only thing remotely passable was Family Guy. Other than that, he's been in nothing good but for some reason, he's an underground favorite. I was talking about Green in its entirety, not only what he creates. Although thats included too.

Robot Chicken is crappy, typical Seth Green fare.

Yeah, I hear what you're saying. It's a nice diversion, at the very least.

That was another reason (although definitely not the only one) why I liked Home Movies -- the humor was quite different from the usual schizophrenic style of other Adult Swim shows.

This was a mega-bump, huh? I think the funniest part of this whole thread was the fact that it was originally about Stroker and Hoop!

tom goes mayor and robot chicken are perfectly unfunny. post-murphy sealab is off. i don't think i've seen any of this season's aqua teen episodes. i dig venture brothers and home movies, but those are cancelled, huh? it's not looking so good for adult swim. i guess i'll just keep buying the space ghost and aqua teen dvds and spend my sunday nights some other way.

Venture Bros. is the only good thing on Adult Swim anymore (besides Family guy and futurama reruns). The "scared straight" episode was hilarious.

I like alot of the Adult Swim shows. Robot Chicken was really good when the first episode hit, but it's slowly been going downhill since (except for the Muppets thing las night and the racing thing from the week before's episode). I hope the Venture Bros comes back to. Can't top the Ghost Pirate episode.

Robot Chicken has been pretty stale. But Venture brothers and Tom goes to the Mayor are both pretty funny, Venture is cooler though. Venture brothers has a great mingle of characters.

Your partner must be very small. Does playing "Dr. Grammar" on Internet forums make you imagine its bigger?

Get a Life. Head over to Opa, IGN, GS and TXB they've been dyin for some jackass to show up and whip their casual grammar into shape.

I don't think I've ever seen anything as unfunny as the Brak Show. Brak was funny as an occasional character on SGC2C and he did well on Cartoon Planet (I think that was the name of the show), but his show is terrible.

Aqua Teen, SGC2C, Home Movies, and Sealab are the best Adult Swim has to offer. Even when they aren't exactly funny, they're still entertaining. Robot Chicken is the same way.

BTW, Home Movies is the best show on Adult Swim. ATHF and Sealab have been crap since AS went mainstream.

How did it go mainstream? It's still basically stuck in the same timeslot, it's still not pulling in the rankings of the kiddy crap, and they still obviously don't have the biggest budget in the world.

I like the newer episodes of ATHF. I thought the first season was fairly unamusing in spots, but the show really found its legs towards the end of it and has proceeded to produce some very hillarious episodes. T-Shirt of the Dead? Hypno-Germ?

Brak himself isn't very funny, although both Dad and Thunderclies can provide some hilarity from time to time. Altogether, it's not great, but still watchable for me.
