I'm warning everyone here who reads this, this is a very offensive poem. I didn't laugh one bit and I hope that who ever wrote this and thought it'd be a good idea to send it around burns in hell. (I know for a fact this came from someone over at the NYPD, and it wasn't written by some 10 year old).

I hate cops. As for the "we need them" stuff I don't know what's happening in your country guys but in mine the only use they have is for giving parking tickets and to play the macho men to immigrants and teenagers. In our apartment building, thieves have raided six houses so far and these useless idiots have done nothing.

I had a friend who joined the police and I met him six months ago (I had to see him for a year cos he had moved). He'd become a total asshole, and he used to be pretty funny guy. I don't know, is there a special police program where cops are trained to be assholes or something?

For cops to be such tough guys, they sure are histrionic. One dissenting opinion and the waterworks start up no matter what. Step to the back of line of the underappreciated. It's the same song for priests, doctors, lawyers, etc. When you do right, the people dote and praise Allah but the minute you fuck up, the torches and stakes are lit.

It can be said for all those groups that mistakes happen. Police are human and they fuck up. Their mistakes are magnified by the weight of the trust we place on them but it's your fuckin job. Deal with it and move on. "Too far"? You bring up this as 'too far' and we can bring up Amadou Diallo.

My point is that it's not your concern. You've safely removed yourself from the bad, nasty city. I live in, it is my concern and I for one am NOT concerned with any of the "shit" happening. And Atlanta has some of the worst crime of any city in the US. So if I'm not concerned about it, what does that say? That you're afraid of a paper tiger. Wow, cops can sure be assholes. No doubt some fucked up shit goes down in the slums, but for a police officer to write this shit is just so ignorant and irresponsible. These "officers of the law" are supposed to be the ones promoting peace and making the streets safe. The views expressed in this poem sicken me. I know there are alot of good cops who are just trying to do their job, but more and more (since I was a teen) I've seen a vigilante type approach from these so called trained professionals. Shit is out of control.

Remember folks, citizens arrest is actually just as powerful as police arrest. Just no citizen generally has the balls to put it into practice.

For all the shit the cops do, and they do do shit, they are no where near as fucked up as the neighborhoods they patrol. They didn't create the problem they have to work in day in and day out, they just have to survey it and bring some semblance of order to it. If it were entirely legal to round up all the obvious law breaking users and drug dealers and other degenerates they would be doing it, if they knew that the same degenerates weren't going to be back on the street the next day.

Its easy to hate cops because the majority of interaction regular folk have with police is high fine traffic cops which sucks all flavours, but I would never want to do their job.
