And what an incredible game by Alex Auld! A 51-save shut out. Truly one of the greatest net-minding performances I've ever seen.

I'm so glad we traded Cloutier. He was never any good. We just had to pretend - when really, :lol, so embarrassing!

I think the Rangers are starting to get old this year. They might be winning now, but I dunno how they are going to stay competitive over the long grind of the season.

Don't break the tables in my official NHL thread, jerkoff!

-jinx- is actually joking. In fact, that's an off-season picture taken of the starting four for the Toronto Maple Leafs.

I'm not sure when exactly I started weeping with joy - either the 9-0 goal Iggy scored on a visibly shaken Khabibulin (sweet albeit late revenge!) or else watching the replays from the Leafs game tonight and seeing Trevor Kidd carried off and rent limb from limb by a blood thirsty ACC crowd. Don't worry Leaf Nation, the Eagle will be healed enough for a rehab stint to the AHL in about 8-10 weeks, I'm sure Tellqvist can carry the load the rest of the way!

Wow, the Flames beat the Chicago Blackhawks, big deal. I still don't know what Tampa was thinking trading Khabibulan to the Hawks for Thibault and Ruutu, but I guess they figured that they were able to beat Calgary so easily in the Finals, they didn't really need great goaltending.

It's a shame about Koivu getting cancer again.

I can't believe my Oilers still haven't lost this season - absolutely amazing.

And how 'bout those Flames? Who would've thought the team was all GAY?!!177
That 2nd intermission locker-room orgy HNiC accidently stepped into still burns.

Frankly the only thing that I didn't find surprising was Greg Millen immediately running past the camera and going down on Kiprusoff.

Well duh, everyone always said the Oilers of the 21st century would make a pretty good AHL team, and since the Oil were relegated in the off season they've proven it. That shootout OT victory over the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on Saturday night was *inspired*. This Oilers team is good enough to get promoted back to the bigs in 05/06! Here's hoping you filthy northeners! :)

How 'bout them Thrashers eh? I smell playoff hopes for them! ;)
Kovalchuk IS having a terrific season thus far, but I honestly don't see the team recovering from losing Danny Heatley to the electric chair.

Yeah, you think the guy would've just stayed in Switzerland. Oh well, live and learn... oh wait, guess not! AM I RITE?!

Man I cant believe the new Winnepeg Jet beat the Wings yesterday. Great Goal Tending by Felix the Cat yet again.

I still Cant believe Tie Domi is captain.

edit WTF@ Canucks calling up Alan Bester and Tim Cheveldae out of retirement.

I don't think I could be more conflicted than this made me. Jets back = good, Domi back = not so much, Domi as captain of Jets = head implodes from emotional confusion. The only bright side is that Tie Domi is now the best and most talented player on the team since they grafted his giant melon onto Sundin's body following Mat's horrible decapitation death in the preseason when Alfredsson cross checked him. Ugly, ugly scene, but now it's kind of funny to hear Domi talk about how he's now his own best friend because suddenly he's the superstar he'd normally be sucking up to. That interview on The Score the other day was pretty surreal, where Tie was going on and on about how they do everything together and if he signs as a free agent with another team they'll need to sign both his head *and* Mat's body because they're absolute best friends in the world and are pretty much a package deal they're so tight, and then the camera panned down and Sundin's body just like shrugged as if he couldn't care less.

I thought it was just a ridiculous rumor but lo and behold Cam Neely, Ray Borque and Adam Oates all back in Bean Town. That fancy ice-skate-chair they got rigged up for Cam looks mighty sweet. Amazing how he's leading the league in PIM right out of the gates, too.

Did you see that move Krustofski had on Novikishov. Then the arena imploded and all that was left was a note that said something about MLB thread on it.

Ok so the 2 sides met today in Chicago and reports are that the talks were encouraging and stuff, tomorrow they will meet again in Toronto....

WHY HAS IT TAKEN THEM THIS LONG TO ACTUALLY TALK TO EACH OTHER
