saunderez said:Not very. You find/buy schematics and then scour the wastes finding the parts required to build said schematic. Then find a work bench and build it. Saying that - the weapons you can build generally aren't available any other way. And this specific melee weapon is awesome.
Set far after the events of 2, on the other side of the country. You'll probably only miss out on the nods to the first 2.DenogginizerOS said:I have never played a Fallout game. Will I be lost in this game?

So does 3 retread over the first 2 games plot points? Like that (genuine Fallout 2 spoilers, kids)Vyse The Legend said:Hmm, not really. You just need to know who the Enclave (bad guys; also) and Brotherhood of Steel (good guys) are.the U.S. Government

Yes it does. You realise the extent ofRodeo Clown said:So does 3 retread over the first 2 games plot points? Like that (genuine Fallout 2 spoilers, kids)the vaults were Enclave experiments and such?
Definitely. There are some really powerful melee weapons in the game, I haven't even got a melee build and I've been dropping enemies really fast. With a proper build and some chems it would be a breeze.BigDubs said:Is a full melee build feasible in FO3? I was looking forward to trying out some 3rd person melee
That would be the Rock-It launcher, one of the first schematics you have a chance to get.Zeliard said:Ah, so it's just limited to whatever schematics you happen to have? I thought I had read something that you can make them shoot whatever you want. Is that still possible? I seem to remember a vid where Todd Howard or whoever was shooting teddy bears and such out of some gun.
saunderez said:That would be the Rock-It launcher, one of the first schematics you have a chance to get.
I haven't actually gotten a hold of it yet so I couldn't tell you, but as far as I am aware you can shoot anything out of it.Zeliard said:I'm assuming its power is dependent upon the ammo. I just read on the Fallout wiki that it can shoot out... human remains? Interesting.
Don´t worry about that. Yeah, there´s Wasteland and ruined city, but to me it really has enough variety. There are some great, unique locations. They totally utilised the possibilities of the universe, of the setting.SoulPlaya said:How are the environments in Fallout 3. I'm someone who LOVED Oblivion, and loved its environment. So far, though, all I've seen of FO3 are huge barren wastelands. Is there any variety in the game? Some trees and grass here and there? How about the life, are there interesting "guilds" in FO3? Interesting characters? I'm so close to picking this game up but these are the things that are holding me back and making me think maybe I should just pick up fable 2 instead.

If you're playing it for the animation you are playing it for the wrong reason. Yes Dead Space is more polished, but its hugely linear compared to FO3.Burger said:Watching that stream it looks like the animation is jacked.
The guy was strafing left, but the animation was of the guy running forward. After playing Dead Space it looked fucking stupid.

It's not so bad this time around because there are perks that give you unique dialog options. I prefer to play a character with high speech, but it's totally feasible to play a character with lower speech and choose the unique dialog option perks to extend your experience.Zeliard said:If Fallout 3 is anything like the first two, you're gonna want to up your speech level a lot. Just makes for a much better experience since you have way more dialogue options.

First of all, the PlayStation 3 version isn't an attractive option, considering exclusive DLC is lined up for the 360 and PC versions.
Yep. DLC is an absolute non-issue for me.Loudninja said:Eh that's all?
