...so the new Fox comedy, The War At Home, premiered tonite between Simpsons and Family guy, probably one of the strongest time slots in television today.

Anyone watch it? Any early thoughts?

I was surprised they had it as racy as it was. Quite shocking that they went for as many racial jokes with it. Don't get me wrong, I ate it up, but I also think that they'll be the new target of quite a few NAACP meetings.

Overall, good first show. It'll be interesting to see where it goes from here.

I liked it, but lose the laugh track. It isn't needed. I mean what's the point if it has scenes in which there are outside shots and you have an "audience" laughing?

Laugh track compelled my finger to change the channel. Watched more Dai-Guard instead.

Thank you Evan Dorkin for nurturing a hatred of laugh tracks in me.

LAUGH NOW MORONS, THE TELEVISION TELLS YOU TO! >:|

I watched five minutes. Maybe not enough to give it the chance it deserved, but I'm not going to give it the other 25 just so I can say "I know for sure this sucked."

But the guy just seems like an idiot, and I'm not really a big fan of the "let's break out of the scene for a moment so I can make my smarmy remark" device.

I hope it dies a quick death, because it will annoy me if it Fox keeps it around for long given how they've killed some immensely better stuff over the last several years.

the show was the introductory show. most of the jokes sucked in the first half cuz they were all introducing the characters and some smarmy jokes. anyone who watched it would readily attest that the second half was far better than the first, and i'm willing to bet that next week will by and far surpass this weeks show.

To those curious: don't waste your time on this show. Even if you may at one or two points manage a chuckle (though I didn't), there are certainly far better ways to spend 30 minutes of your life. This is not a quality piece of work.

The second half of the episode was a lot better than the first half. The laugh track is the only thing that bothered me but that's because I just watched scrubs a few hours ago. I liked it more than I did Family Guy and the Simpsons out of that 2 hour block.

This show was much better when it was called Ground for Life. I'm not buying Michael Rappaport as the suburban dad character. Next!

It had a lot of really obvious jokes where I knew the punchline before they said it, hopefully now that they have the first week out of the way they'll come up with better jokes. I do like Rappaport, probably the only reason I got any enjoyment out of the first ep.
