It was an odd time for Kiss. Peter Criss left the band and Ace Freshley was in his own personal hell dealing with addictions and did not participate in the production of the album. Simmons and Stanley laid it down heavier than ever with help from Eric Carr and Vinnie Vincent but it did not really hit the highs of their past albums. In my book "Rock and Roll Hell", "War Machine", and "I Love It Loud" were worth the price of admission though.
