The Outpost (2020) - Clint Eastwood's son at the dumbest FOB location in history

Out now on VOD.

I watched it last night. It's actually pretty good, despite having a modest budget, and rings true from the first-hand accounts I've read. It tells the true story of Combat Outpost Keating in Afghanistan, which was seated on the low ground surrounded by mountains at every side:

Military Intelligence at its finest. Hundreds of Taliban end up swarming the outpost, and multiple Medals of Honor were awarded for the desperate battle that ensued.

Good 4th of July watch with the bros.

Is this the same son of Clint's who has played bass for some of his newer soundtracks?

Was Rambo in the taliban forces? Or Bond?
They should digitally add a Rambo 3 skin to a random character in all movies that has taliban forces 💪💪

Watched it Friday night, was pretty good. Hadn't even seen any trailers prior. Cant imagine how shitty it would have been to be based there
and then see two of your COs get killed and another leave whilst you have to stay

what movie is that one?

13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi. I actually gave it a first watch because Gp1 Gp1 mentioned it above too. Hell of an action-war movie. More stylized and less grounded, but Michael Bay has really been gaining a second wind after falling off for a while during the Transformers run. 13 Hours and 6 Underground are hyper-kinetic and relentless, full of Holy Shit moments.

Was a pretty good flick.

Getting off the chopper and seeing high ground surrounding the FOB on every side, what a gut punch that must have been to anybody with a brain in their head.

And i watched The outpost this weekend and really liked it. We need more of those AA budget movies.

Benghazi is one of my favorite MB movie (close with The rock and Pain and gain). A Real solid militainment flick.

ps: Speaking of warmovies.... Greyhound (the tom hanks naval ww2 movie) will debut 07/10.

I just bought this in 4K last week. That hand... Aieeee.

Jim and Roy brothers in arms.

The movie makes me want to be better. Communication and being physically capable can be vital to saving lives.

Thanks for the head up on the The Outpost

Yes I would also like to thank you for the recommendation, watched this a few days ago and really enjoyed it. Mentioned it in the "good movies lately" thread, definitely didn't feel like an $18 million dollar movie, and the direction was good, some nice pulled back long shots or tracking shots and not just close-up quick cuts. I had actually just finished watching some of Rod Lurie's other movies like Deterrence and The Contender think this is probably some his best work.
