What productivity tools? In the engineering field just forget about it. I own and ipad and iphone, i pondered buying a Mac, it's just isn't suitable. I would like to know what kind of jobs people have they complain so much about MS. Seriously. All of my design/calculation software work great, i can work on any computer without an hitch, i just struggle to think what is so bad to the point of interfering with your "productivity"Bloated ass dysfunctional corporation. Their services and programs are a disjointed mess. Not to mention all that corruption with political lobbying that allows market-killing acquisitions. I take some comfort in the newer generation using other productive work tools over Windows, mainly iOS. While Apple retains full compatibility within its ecosystem, MS is just a wet fart. I hate that my workplace is using MS. I hope they change that as I now consider MS to be a security threat.

Always a joy to repost this timeless classic. Literally nothing changed since.
Microsoft/Intel will still be king of the workplace, unless Apple & Google are able to provide compatibility for 30+year old applications like Windows supports. I believe the oldest type of applications macOS can run are x86 64bit apps, since Apple removed 32bit support in Catalina.Everyone in schools all around the world are being trained up in MacOS and iOS, it's only a matter of time til they hit the work environment and demand change.
It isn't about supporting everything, it's about site licensing. Most IT departments can support everything but not every company wants to mix and match support and site licenses. The bigger a company is, the more they want uniformity as it makes things easier to manage.since we have functioning IT that can support everything.
