I was never a fan of old Ben in the early days, or Matt really. But they've been pretty damn good over the years, especially Matt.

Scott Adkins as well, means there should be some REALLY good fight scenes. Damon + Affleck is $$$$. This is actually a netflix movie I'm excited about.

I think the story here is how to "normal" cops react when given this insane temptation, followed up by some serious repercussions(?).

Drama always exists in the edges, the clashes. So in a sense any drama involving police is gonna be dealing with moral compromises, otherwise what's the point?

So seeing how it plays out, hopefully within a well balanced morality play, should make for a good 2 hours of entertainment.

but yeah, I miss the more fun and (at times) lighthearted buddy cop movies. Lethal Weapon, Rush Hour, Beverly Hills Cop, Red Heat, Dead Heat, Alien Nation. Cops that might skirt the edge of legality, or at least procedure, but aren't out right smoking fools for jaywalking, taking bribes, flexing on women for sex, terrorizing their 'subjects', etc. and dealing with less morally grey opponents that are firmly in the "evil" category.

If you want I can recommend you thousands of shows and movies that just have hero cops, good guy cops, good detectives, and procedural cops.

I mean, Law and Order, CSI, and most recently The Rookie, have all become longtime popular shows.
