So, I'm a big fan of Kenshin. I think it's the only real anime (excluding DBZ here) that I really like and really watch. I've seen all eps till 63, which are the only important ones anyway. I also read the entire manga. It's just such a beautiful story, even though I thought the ending could have been better. I mean... at least I wanted to see Kenshin and Kaoru express their love for each other not just
see them having a child named Kenji
.

I've seen Tsuiokuhen, about Kenshin's past. It's pretty good, but it was a little hard getting used to it in the beginning since it's drawn differently and it's a crapload more violent so it didn't really feel like Kenshin the anime. I don't intend to see Seisouhen, because I hear the ending isn't faithful to the manga and is more sad -_- wtf? I want a happy ending. So could someone give me a summary with the entire ending with spoilers, thanks.

The music and voice actors are really nice. Some people complain that the Japanese Kenshin voice is too girly but I think it's great. I mean, Kenshin already looks girly enough, so make him sound girly too. The music in Tsuiokuhen is also pretty blazin'. It's sounds very nice and the music really sounds like something out of a movie like LOTR. Awesome. Just awesome.

Anyway. I've been thinking. I really want a live-action movie out of Rurouni Kenshin. It would be awesome, because the people who made the anime really screwed up bad. But every actor would have to be perfect for the role, though. Oh yeah, I could see it happening. I would do anything for a role as Sanosuke or Hiko Seijuro. :D

I also Enjoy all things kenshin especially the first OVA. i hate the last arc of the series and the last OVA i mean cmon after all that happens to him during the series ...he just abandons kaoru and goes off to some war. LAME.

The fact that you like DBZ troubles me tho :(

Yeah from what I hear the last OVA doesn't fit all the characters and everything. GODDAMNIT.

And I don't like DBZ anymore. :lol I was like 14 when I liked it. It's really pathetic. Actually, it would've been a decent anime if Goku just died when he defeated Freeza and the anime would've ended. Let's not get offtopic, though.

But I don't want to cry. :( I'm definately not going to watch the second OVA now. It's just stupid. I'm not ever going to accept it. So there.

What kinda disappointed me in the manga about the Jinchuu arc was the fighting. Some fighting was kinda weird. Like this guy (very small spoiler here)
with armor or something that could withstand bullets and Sanosuke could hardly kick his ass -_-
, what's up with that? Also, the fight right before the fight with Enishi and Kenshin was also kinda disappointing. But still definately cool enough.

So what do you guys think of a live-action Rurouni Kenshin movie?

I don't think it would work. IT NEEDS TO BE A SERIES NOT A MOVIE! :lol :D
Nah, it would be, like, a lot of movies. LOTR is a HUGE story and is covered in 3. I think 10 movies would work.

No, damn. You're right. Series. But series don't get as much as attention as movies. :(

Great, great series. Too bad the Enishi arc was never animated except in that half-assed OVA which compare to the others was complete shit. Second best samurai series I've seen second to Samurai Champloo.

Himuro said:
Samurai Champloo? Compared to Kenshin? That's like comparing a mansion to an outhouse. Champloo just oozes with mediocrity and cliche'. :(

and Kenshin not? let's see, Warrior with a dark past, warrior wants to atone for say past, warrior fights to protects those he loves. wow how original, everything has been done before everything is cliche. I think is pretty hard to find a completely original story, is not how you create a story is how you told it Kenshin told a good story and so did Samurai Champloo. I like both a lot but I like Champloo better is that hmmm hard to understand?

champloo was good but it was a case of style over substance. Kenshin was sort of melodramtic and predictable at times...but it actually had a much better story.

the Kenshin manga is amazing, in fact the manga is one the best manga I've ever read second only to Berserk, but come on you know Berserk is on a whole different ballpark.

Now the animated series is great but not that great and when I was comparing Champloo to Kenshin I was comparing the animes.

What's that? Sorry, I can't hear you over the fucking BEATBOXING SAMURAI. FUCK YEAH.

Stop bitching which samurai is best and stop ruining my thread.

Besides... Kenshin is better. :lol Seriously. He's so awesome for being girly and stuff. He looks like a girl so often. Especially in the manga. You can't really say Kenshin is very cliché. He just isn't. But I'm sure that Samurai Champloo isn't cliché either.

Sooo... about that live-action movie...

what? I hated that sometimes you couldn't if the girl was Kaoru or Kenshin

You could easily tell that Kenshin was a guy. The long, red hair rocks.

:lol Just kidding, anyway favorite character Aoshi Shinomori fucking badass, Kenshin hit him with the amakakeru(sp?) and he still stood up and fought ShiShio I mean how badass is that?

Amakakeru ryuu no hirameki. It took me a while to pronounce that. :lol

Well. Shishio got hit by the superstrong second blow of the ultimate attack. And he still fought Kenshin. HOW BADASS IS THAT?

Kenshin's character is great an all but.. just watch Zatoichi and be happy.
So? I still want a live-action Kenshin movie, even though that movie with the blind oldman swordsman guy is pretty good. I might watch it.

well yeah, still Aoshi owns :)

Check out all these awesome names for all the moves. :D

Amakakeru Ryu No Hirameki (Heavenly Dragon Flash), Battou Jutsu, Do Ryu Sen (Ground Dragon Flash), Kuzu Ryu Sen (The Nine-headed Dragon Flash), Ryu Kan Sen (Asending Dragon Flash), Ryu Kan Sen Kaogarashi, Ryu Kan Sen Tsumuji (Dragon Windup Flash Spiral), Ryu Tsui Sen (Flying Dragon Flash), Ryu Tsui Sen Zan (Flying Dragon Flash Slash), Ryu Shou Sen (Rising Dragon Flash) Hi Ryu Sen, Hi Ryu Sen, Ryu Sou Sen Garami, Sou Ryu Sen (Paired Dragon Flash) Sou Ryu Sen (Paired Dragon Flash).

There was this move in the manga that was totally not used in the anime or OVAs. I'll go look it up.

Hi Ryu Sen, Flying Dragon Strike. It's so awesome. He does something and his sword flies out of his sheath like a bullet and hits the opponents head with the hilt (which knocks the opponent out). How cool is that. :lol I can't believe it wasn't used in the anime.

The second arc was tops due to all the character development, the kid, the circus freaks, kenshin himself... but that's its strong point. The first season is only decent and the third season was a terrible decline/mistake.

But the first OVA 4 parter was the best... awesome animation, music, story. Kenshin also sounded much more manly, even though it was still a female VA. Only problem was its short length... maybe if it had been an OVA like Initial D 4th stage.

* Sai still wishes the Jinchuu Arc had made it to the anime.

RK's a great series, one of my favorites. Love the style, action's nice, and there's it can be pretty funny at times.. I still need to pick up the boxset for the Kyoto Arc.

Hiko Seijuro is not to be fucked with, by the way. ;D

Saitoh is possibly the most overrated character in kenshin.

HEY LOOK WHAT I CAN DO! *goes into Gatotsu* HEY LOOK WHAT I CAN DO! *does Gatotsu but UPWARD*
WHAT.

Oh and by the way it's either Saitō or Saitou, but not Saitoh...

I like Saitou. His voice is so extremely impressive. Especially when he said "Aku. Soku. Zan." in episode 29. The English voice actor doesn't compare at all.

The RK fansubs used Saitoh, so a lot of people are accustomed to that (kind of anal retentive to call someone out on it). Same thing with Hiko Seijuro & Hiko Seijuurou.

Damn. Ok.

Owned in my own thread. ~_~

Saitoh is valid for the spelling anyway. There isn't a universal romanization scheme for Japanese. I avoid adding a U to the end of anything when romanizing though since Japanese do actually add U to words.

Anyway, Saitoh is great. He's one of the most tenacious anime characters out there. He has the standard badass motif but it's his tenacity that separates him from other standard badasses.

My favorite character is still Sanosuke though, the Futae no Kiwami is awesome but too bad it pretty much shattered all the bones in Sanosuke's right hand.

The Saito vs Kenshin fight in the series was fucking intense. I think they killed the budget right there. The Shishio fight felt tame in comparison.

The music of the series really was impressive now that i think about it....it really set the right mood each time.

I hope they make a new series with that wandering emotionless kid i think his name was sujeero (sp?) .

Exactly how I feel. Kenshin is fucking awesome when he turns into the Battousai.

I liked the Soujiro vs. Kenshin fight (the one that goes before Kenshin vs. Shishio) more a lot more emotional, Soujiro's past was really fucked up and seeing Soujiro fight was the coolest thing in the series IMO.

I liked the beginning and ending OVA. I don't like everything else inbetween so when I feel like watching Kenshin, I go straight from the end of the first OVA to the beginning of the second one. vO_Ov
