I can't believe I'm fricken' 23. If I'm the future of America, it's safe to say we're boned.

Yeah no kidding, I graduated High School in '98. :(
Time flies, regardless if you are having fun or not.

Grade 7's in 1998, represent!

BTW, that's the first tech-related TV show I've seen that doesn't waste time inserting shitty jokes every 5 seconds. There was actually a lot of useful, interesting information (for the period) packed into a relatively short time. Now I know why so many people reminisce about The Screensavers of old.

EDIT: Leo's head used to look a lot bigger then. That, or he's gotten a lot fatter to compensate.

Wow, that was great, thanks!

Leo looks so much younger, even though it's kind of blurry.

Wow! Pentium 2 300! 128 RAM! Because "some of these games are hundreds and hundreds of megabytes!" :lol

And the monitor alone was $5,000! I didn't catch the size though. Is it a 21" or 22"? Shows you how fast prices drop and tech increases. I bought a 21" monitor in 2002 for about $450.

Yeah, why did computers have such ridiculous prices up until around 2000-2? Some of those late 90s rigs cost more than a used car

Holy crap, thanks for the link. I am holding in may hand, a Pentium2 with "MMX technology" that I keep on workspace as a paper wieght! It is complete with the little holographic circutry stamp on top. Man, LMAO!

Great find! :lol

Technology advanced, production processes didn't involve such long procedures thus cutting costs drastically. I remember buying my Packard Bell in 96 P1 Celeron 133Mhz, 16mb of ram, 1.8gb hdd, 1mb Vram, built in midi sound card lol and my 15" Monitor came out to 2999.99CAD. and then I bought my second machine in 99 which was a Celeron 566, 16Mb Intel graphics, 128mb ram, 8.5gb hdd, and Soundblaster 16 for like 699.99 thats huge Price drop.

Well...the monitor kicks ass. It looks widescreen to me, but I might be wrong...

Wide screen CRT PC monitors are rare as hell (I know Carmack uses one)...

OH shit, I saw some Forsaken there. Having tried that recently, seeing any loading is kinda funny (as the game today literally loads so fast that the loading screen just flashes for a second).
