Regarding a statement by CDPR: "We are working on it, more info later"

edit:
As some mentioned, it was not exactly stated that it is a "4K" patch. Right now it is only a patch supporting the Xbox One X.
/edit

It was visible during the show. Didn't CDPR state they would not support new consoles? I hope PS4 Pro will receive the patch as well.

The reason given was that such an update would take away resources from Cyberpunk 2077, so technically it was ruled out only while the game is in full production.

Edit:
Right. CDPR confirming to MS that it'd like to patch the game doesn't necessarily mean it's happening any time soon.

Edit: Development being outsourced is an interesting possibility that I hadn't considered. That would even mean CDPR's statement still holds true -- that it's too busy to issue Pro/Scorpio patches itself.

Sony wasn't paying enough for them to boost the Pro.

I love CDPR, but I'm not a fan of them getting lovey dovey with MS. Still hard to forgive X1 getting a better CE than PS4 or even PC.

But Cyberpunk is still in full production so the resource argument shouldn't be any different for X than it was for Pro

They should release a pro patch unless its something similar to boost mode where dev dont actually have to do anything.

CDPR already supported Witcher 3 enough. If Microsoft is paying them for their time and money to upgrade Witcher 3, what's wrong with that?

The Witcher 3 ran down the screen when he was talking about X updates.

There was not a single detail about what the update would pertain.

Could this technically just refer to the base game running with a dynamic resolution?

Digital Foundry couldn't find an instance of it ever going above 900p on XB1 OG, but they stated CD Projekt Red told them it has dynamic res.

So it'll hit 1080p by default on XB1 X.

Or this is a proper patch.

This game came in to my mind when they were talking about XBOX updates on existing games. Definitely interested in seeing what they do with it.

If they end up patching the Pro as well I'd feel like shooting Microsoft 20 bucks for getting them working on it, lol.

The box art came up on a bit where Spencer talked about patches coming from third party developers they've partnered with to produce updates for XB1X.

Pretty strongly implied that it's a full-on patch.

Not sure why anyone is surprised by this given the CDPR/MS dealings over the past few years. It's like asking why Bethesda didn't bring Fallout Shelter to the PS4. There are certain companies that have historically gravitated towards MS, hell or high water, when it comes to partnership deals.

Funny how MS getting any kind of special treatment is always so shitty but Sony getting all the goodies is always okay

What if MS themselves is handling the 4K support? If all it takes is increasing resolution and testing the framerate, i guess it's not too far fetched.

Quality of discourse here really is going downwards huh? It's likely that more details will be officially announced during the week.

I play on PC, but hopefully they don't leave the Pro in the dust here....

Many of my friends bought this on PS4 and the game absolutly get transformed at 1440p and up...
