The world in 2060

The Lunch Legend

GAF's Nicest Lunch Thief and Nosiest Dildo Archeologist
How will be the world in the year 2060? That's 50 years from now. You are welcome to give your opinion.

Some personal ideas:

* At that time the population booming will be a thing of the past, and even Africa will be full of senior citizens.

* Self driven electric cars will be everywhere. On the other hand the Tesla company will still be announcing the flying car for next year

* A new way to register passwords will be invented, so you will never have to memorize a new password again.

* Brain waves detectors, improved voice detector and face recognition interfaces will make computers a lot easier to manipulate.

* Printed paper is a collection item, and there is no newspapers or magazines in print anymore. Everything is digital. More Cryptos.

* Pollution will be everywhere, and the world's economy would seem to be falling apart.

* Hypersonic magnetic-levitated vacuum tube trains will exist in some developed regions.

* At last, holographic TV for everybody.

Your guessing?

I don't think humanity can survive another calamity on the scale of the great Teraflops wars of 2020. In 2060 the world will be a desolate, barren land littered with plastic.

My ten thousand original console games will be worth a mountain of gold and I will trade them for 10000 virgins.
And then I will die.

- 2059: All communications lost with Mars base. Limited satellite visuals show no abnormal activity.

- 2060: After many failed attempts, SpaceX CEO Prof. X Æ A-12 announces a change in plans. Ze only held the position of CEO for 2 years at this point but has proven to be extremely reliable and resourceful. The next supply mission scheduled for 2061 will be repurposed to be an investigative/rescue mission as well. Analysis of worst case scenarios show a decent chance of survivability within the base.

- 2061: Rescue mission launched.

- 2062: Arrival at Mars base after a 6 month long voyage. Temporary operations base established. Scout drones launched...

Ree will be long dead but GAF will still be kicking. We’re like the cockroaches of the internet. A real trashfire, some might say.

I thought it was already dead. Coulda sworn I saw a few guys in tropical shirts making it move with ropes they tied around its various tumor infested appendages...huh. Maybe it was the drugs. Also in the far future, archeologists will find a tomb with the mummified remains of half of the Reset Era member base. They will be questioning why 75% of the bodies possess both breast implants and a mummified penis... and further befuddled by the fact that all of them lacked any sign of ever growing a scrotum and testicles. 30% of those have wedding bands on their fingers...100% of those have camcorders and a densely packed plastic plant with a tripod behind it. 100% of the married deceased have shirts that say "Always the bitch and never the bull."

In 2060, I will be on year 57 of asking myself why hot dogs come in packs of 10 while hot dog buns come in packages of 8. I will also be on year 57 wondering how the fuck I was able to sit through the entirety of Bullet proof monk.

I don't think the USA will still be in existence by 2060, we are headed for a breakup and it is going to be nasty.

A genius will discover how to safely induce rapid penile growth, and as he shares his findings to the world in a speech a feminist will shoot him mid-sentence and he will die

That will spark World War Penis, the first World War, fought on behalf of the lost promise of the rise of the penis

Not the first time someone shoots halfway to completion, I assure you.

I'll also guess if there's a white flag of surrender in this great war it would be a little bit on the crusty side.

Donald Trump is re-elected again, blowing people's minds how did he serve past two term limits and living to the age of 114.

"When two descendants of the greatest Lenin's corpse makeup artists ever run into two descendants of those actors that weren't Bernie's corpse...and nobody knew who the fuck they were, they have a plan that could shake the world and Grab Mother nature by the Pussycat, and ALF is here too! Remember ALF! He's back to add some fresh albeit slightly crooked Hilarity, comes a brand new Comedy film! Due to release this summer, Starring Jewish and French Actor, Orongeman BAHDMin is Donald Trump's animated corpse in, Trumpternity: No time to Be Pee-Tapdantic! Hillary is Destroying the Atlantic! Don't miss this one and it's epic fight scene conclusion buy Trumpatron YUGETHOUSAND Vs Hillary Snukeazord!

I consciously wrote something this dumb. I could just delete it and not post it, but REEling it back in and stopping anyone from seeing it immediately is akin to hyper sensitive safe space levels of censorship.

Also I am not a giant pussy. I'm just a worm on a big fuckin hook...of freedom.

I feel like that question has many answers, I'll answer it seriously, I know many countries have their sights set 50, 100 years into the future, I think basketball players do great at setting up their families for generations to come.

We have to go back and warn them not to eat bats and shit. Also tell Seattle to run on the goal line. Also tell Atlanta to kick the field goal and not throw when in range.

They're really not but ok

I'm not gonna turn this into a football thread so I'll just edit here. Cheating scandals tarnish them all and teams have won more championships

Hahahah they are , haters gonna hate. No other team has 6 superbowl rings in 20 years, Best team ever.

Cheating scandal was all just made up BS, Spygate every team was doing what NE did, other teams just got sour and snitched on them like little bitches, this is a proven fact admitted by coaches and players, Deflategate was just pure BS.
Cheating really helped Malcom Butler intercept a pass and not Carol’s own boneheaded idea to get cute and throw the ball right, or not the shitty pass from Russel Wilson, right?:messenger_grinning_squinting:
Atlanta couldn’t stop NE once when it mattered , not once but they lost because they were cheating right? Hahahahahahaha

You had one thing correct , lets not talk about the most dominant team of the modern sports ERA lets concentrate on the OP’s question.

Humanized AI assistants ala the film HER. People can hold naturally flowing conversation with AI assistants on their devices.

AR devices are common place, VR gaming is the 50% of the gaming market if not more. Social Media is intertwined with AR & VR.

There will be humans with Neuralink enhancements.

Several animal species are brought back from extinction.

The James Webb telescope makes tremendous findings.

Humanity will have discovered there is life on other planets.

Humanity builds bases and refueling checkpoints on the Moon.

Mankind takes first steps on Mars. Mars settlements for researchers are under construction.

Expensive low-Earth Orbit trips are available to the public

One or two devastating natural disasters killing thousands of humans.

Humanity suffers the infliction of another deadly disease, millions of lives lost during the epidemic.

Several diseases and viruses are eradicated.

high bandwidth learning, master the whole of mathematics or anything you want in one night
I agree, but it won’t be a “learning” it will be installing. You will know nothing more but will have on demand access to the application and it’s resources. Think googling, wiki and YouTube tutorials all wrapped in one.

If kurzweil is right....ands he's been pretty spot on for the last 30 years....we Achieve singularity in 2045. So think bigger.
We YOTTABYTE the pillow and prepare for the best and worst conceivable scenarios. The technological singularity is probably by far, on orders of magnitude more potential to instantaneously change the world in a exceedingly large number of possible way, is the most terrifying and most exciting thing that humanity has, is, and will march inexorably towards with more collective uncertainty as to how it will play out. The fact that we still have no idea as to whether combining all that we know about everything that has been done/discovered/created/experienced/perceived and theorized about, all that data, is 10%, 50, 99% or .000001% of what we potentially could know is such a wide open space for speculation, theory, hypothesis adds a nice big fat layer of far more potential possibilities, or a soul crushingly low of increased possibilities if the amount we know is greater than 95%. The odds on it being any double digit, single digit, or that infinity repeating decimal devil on the right side makes the amount of of potential possibilities increase of one to infinity...either true or a number so large that looking at all of it from start to end would take an *infinite amount of time, and thus an imperceptible number.

*Fuckin infinit.y. Why you always gotta make things so infinite? Cant you be just you know, have a finite amount of cool for 2 seconds?

I know you're joking, if todays internet is anything to go by, there will people leading entire parallel lives in VR, especially if the technology by then makes it viable.
The internet exposes some rather strange parts of human nature, it's only going to get even stranger, I'm sure.

Not everyone can get what they want irl. Many more can get it in games. Makes sense

- Haptic Feedback technology plus hologram (but not quite like holograms from the movie, just like the ones we have now but better) will give us digital books/e-paper that feels like we are touching physically paper, produced at a cheap rate.

- Blu-Rays will be collected by Hipsters.

- Concerts & many live events take place most often in the digital realm, possibly in VR if it stays popular enough, people just don’t go out to outdoor events as much.

- 3D will make yet another attempt at a comeback, different & better technology will once again put it to bed.

- Still no contact with Extra Terrestrials, but we will have at least one or two false confirmations from the most respected scientists.

- Someone goes a bit too crazy with Transhumanism, it doesn’t go well.

- Self Driving Transport is a success.

- Most of the world has a Universal Basic Income.

My grandparents will be dead. My parents will likely be dead. All my pets I have today will be dead. My aunt's and uncles will likely be dead. I will be an old man. My sister will be an old woman.

I will not be where I am today. I'll probably think back to this thread and remember replying. Life will have changed so much for me that I doubt I will have to reflect much on the technological change.

What I hope I have for myself by then is a wife who I love, a home that is mine, and many children. If anything, this thread has been a good reminder of my own mortality and what I need to do.
