Last September, there were some rumors about a remaster of Prototype making the rounds online. These reports suggested a project led by Iron Galaxy Studios that would have given both titles in the franchise a major overhaul.

Unfortunately, journalist and industry insider Jez Corden dismissed these claims during a recent podcast. He emphasized that no Prototype game is currently in production. He believes that if anything were to be released, it would likely be a backward-compatible game without any graphical overhaul.

As a fan of Prototype 1, I'm not surprised to hear this unfortunately. The second game kinda sucked, and they ruined Alex's character so unless they retconned the sequel to not exist or just did a remake of the first game, this franchise is basically dead.

A remastered collection of the first two games would suffice.
