Such a great movie, the fight scene between Piper and keith David, it truly one of the best in the history of Film. Where the hell is my Special Editon DVD, make it happen Carpenter

One of the greatest quotes in history...
Nada: "I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass. And I'm all out of bubblegum".

I can't believe I'm the first to post in this thread. I'm disappointed in you, GAFers!

Definitely the best quote:

"Life's a bitch, and she's back in heat." -- "Rowdy" Roddy Piper

I'll be back tomorrow morning, and I expect to see more posts in this thread.

Good day, sirs!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, I wanted to post that quote.

*proceeds to beat TheMadCowTipper senseless with a 2x4 for roughly 15 minutes while taking my own licks, but smashing in his car windshield so ha what now sucka?*

I can't believe this thread sank to the second page with only three posts in it. What is wrong with you people?

That fifteen-minute fight is out of control. I remember seeing that movie in the theater and thinking, "How long is this going to go on?" Then the pile-driving started.

You... you look like your face fell in the cheese dip back in 1956.
:lol

Great movie, and it still holds up due to the lack of over the top and now dated special effects. Who knew Rowdy Roddy Piper would be good in a movie either?

What a fantastic movie.

I remember the first time I saw this, I was probably about 15 or so hanging out at a friends house on a Saturday. We were sitting around just watching TV and flipped through the channels and caught this about 5 minutes in, had no idea what it was, and watched the whole damn thing. It's great. Every time either of us sees it on now we call each other to let them know, like this year when it was on that AMC marathon. Oh and the line where he's in the grocery store, something like "You look OK, this one though, real fuckin ugly" is superb.

and this film means even more TODAY than it did then.

I don't know what OBEY you mean.

God, I had no idea what I was watching the first time I saw it. All I thought was "Cool, Roddy Piper, I liked him as a wrestler when I was little", and then BAM, Carpenter's second greatest work (Big Trouble in Little China is still my favorite).
