They're trying to solicit me for credit cards by mailing checks now...

This is new to me...

... okay, so I got a check in the mail for $3.25, and basically the gist of it is:

- You can deposit this check at your bank
- Upon depositing it, you're acknowledging that you'd like to apply for a $2500 pre-approved VISA or Mastercard
- After 30 days they bill you $95
- You can cancel within those first 30 days by calling them, and keep the $3.25

This is bizarre. Has anyone else been solicited this way yet?

Got one from Columbia House. Cashing the check for like $5 joins me up with some kind of debt thing whatever the fuck.

Very shady.

All the damn time.

On most of the checks I've seen, the catch is written UNDERNEATH the signiature line, so I'm curious at to how easily those would stand up in court if I signed one for $10,000. I can't be expected to have agreed to anything below where I signed, if there were any common sense in the law. Which there often isn't.
